Northampton Saints V Scarlets (LV= Cup Semi Final)

S4C - Sarra Elgan hosting from Franklins Gardens, with Dafydd Jones there to provide build up and analysis. Commentary is from Wyn Gruffydd and Derwyn Jones, whilst Rhodri Davies is pitchside reporter, who has turned up expecting the temperature to turn cold suddenly.
James Gemmill was with Pat Sanderson and Scott Quinell on Sky Sports with Mark Robson and Ieuan Evans commentating, not sure if there was a reporter.

On the athletics front Martin Gillingham was commentating on the Top 14 on Saturday for ESPN so in the patches I saw Tim Hutchings was flying solo for Eurosport in Istanbul, was this the case all day?

I'm not sure, as I haven't watched any of the Indoor Athletics. I find it totally pointless running on a strangely banked track and under a roof.

World Touring Car Championship - Monza

Martin Haven and Matt Neal commentated, whilst Ben Constanduros was race Interviewer. Fans of the Avian variety may not want to watch Race 2 of the afternoon. Martin Haven commentated solo on the Auto GP earlier that day.

I think Eurosport also have some ETCC coming up?

I assume that Ben is related (son?) to the rather good motoring journalist Bob Constanduros.

I'd guess so. I see from his Twitter feed, that he has re-tweeted a behind the scenes video made by motoring journalist Neil Cole (who I can remember did the WRC when it was on Dave).

Yes, on Wednesday afternoon I think. Haven on his own for that.

Eddie Butler is superb for me
Butler, Andy Cotter and Miles Harrison my top 3.

Shame about Brian Moore cheerleading, even worse as normal.

Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th March - Channel 4

Channel 4 Racing: Cheltenham Festival

Presenters: Alastair Down and Alice Plunkett

Analysts: John Francome, Jim McGrath and Ted Walsh

Commentator: Simon Holt (on all four featured races and all/most of the others that were televised live)

Betting experts: John McCririck and Tanya Stevenson

Reporters: Lesley Graham and Derek Thompson

That's the main Channel 4 team for their live coverage of the Festival, Mike Cattermole and Tom Lee were the only other names I saw listed in the credits at the end of their live broadcast today. I presume Cattermole will have handled a few of the lesser races to lighten the load on Simon Holt, with both him and Lee appearing on The Morning Line. I've been fortunate enough to catch a fair bit of Channel 4's coverage of Cheltenham for the first time in a few years, they've really done an excellent job this week. Well done to everyone involved with their coverage.

Not got round to it yet but I have to say although I knew Italy v Scotland wouldn't get as much coverage, the BBC really did make the game almost as though they didn't want to show it.

I know the sad news had came in etc which would dominate before they go on air, it was more of a case of McNamara, Nicol and Douglas, no frills, and not even BBC using their own graphics, making do with Italian HB's/replays/vt's etc, which on the other Italian home games BBC use 1/2 of their own different camera angles / own replay's. all in all I thought was extremely pisspoor, and showed little effort.

Connor McNamara is decent though, i'd still rather have Alistair Eyken as their 3rd choice/relief comm on the TV though.

Do 5 Live get first refusal for Eyken though ?

It did surprise me that the BBC took the graphics from Sky Sport in Italy. Have to say to I though I thought they were generally better, especially on the HD coverage.

Not sure, was strange that Eyken did couple games on TV then all of a sudden McNamara crops up, like last year for ITA v SCO

BBC cheekily putting their yellow logo beside it, dunno who they were fooling.

RTE do that in Ireland for all matches where they put an RTE box beside the graphics. The only time they use their own graphics is for the Ireland matches at the Aviva Stadium as they are the host broadcaster and whenever the commentators throw back to the studio to get the thoughts of George Hook or Brent Pope.

I assume Eyken is the number 3 but chose to commentate on the radio for the last weekend instead of the dead rubber between Italy and Scotland which Conor McNamara also did last year.

Reporter: Thomas Kane

Rugby Union: Methodist College v Ballyclare High School
Live from Ravenhill

Didn’t catch any of the GAA before hand as I do not watch it but caught the credits at the end of the program. The finals were played today as Saint Patricks Day fell on a Saturday therefore today was the bank holiday in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

To be fair, Until last couple of years All matches except French home games the BBC were Host Broadcaster (Even in Italy) so they used their own graphics, and RTE/BBC etc seperately added their own logo.

Now France, Italy and Ireland have their own HB's so It's only Wales/Eng/Sco games that have BBC Graphics (minus the BBC logo on the worldfeed)

BBC F1 - Austrailian Grand Prix

Presenter: Jake Humphrey
With: Eddie Jordan & David Coulthard
Commentators: Ben Edwards & David Coulthard
Reporter: Lee McKenzie
Technical Analyst: Gary Anderson

First time Ben Edwards has commentated on BBC and he really impressed me, far better than Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle who is a great co-commentator but poor lead commentator. Ben Edwards did BTCC for ITV, A1GP for Sky & F1 for Eurosport in the 1990s so is a respected commentator.

Can't say the exact information on Sky as I don't have it, I could probably guess it but won't bother
