To answer my own question the commentary 'is' for BT. Rather than any world feed as Wyn was promoting rugby next season on BT.

Unusual selection of commentators for BT Sport's first game of international rugby. Very limited personnel, but at least they didn't take the host broadcaster's commentary.”

Nice week for Wyn then, as he's been doing Wales' games in the Junior World Championship for S4C (with either Dafydd Jones or Emyr Lewis).

Anyone know why Eddie Hemmings has been missing from Sky's Super League coverage lately? Very rare that he misses any game and not been on for a few weeks now. Not down to do a match this weekend either apparently.

Super League not the same without him so hope he's back soon.

I know there was a piece on Sky Sports a couple of months ago about him being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, it might be to do with his treatment for that

Was he not on last week at all ? I know he didn't do a Challenge Cup game but he doesn't usually anyway I don't think.

Not on at all over the past few weeks, Carney has been doing Boots N All and Bill Arthur apparently on comms again this weekend as last weekend when he shared with Rod Studd. Hope he's OK.

Correct, he was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year. Sadly, touchline reporter Bill Arthur has been battling the same disease as well

Although it is more prevalent in the over 50s it is a harsh fact that 1 in 8 of us will get prostate cancer at some point in our lives, and over 9,000 men die from it in the UK every year.

I notice that the BBC haven't sent the big hitters to commentate on the European Team Athletics. One of them sounds like the boxing commentator.

Jonathan Edwards is hosting though (from Manchester one presumes) along with Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson.

Just in relation to Eddie Hemmings' absence from Sky as discussed above, it sounds as though he's due back on Boots N All this week going by the details on the Sky website.

Athletics on BBC 2 on Sunday. According to the guide it's commentary by Steve Cram, Andrew Cotter and Steve Backley. Has Paul Dickemson been dropped ? Haven't heard him on the BBC for some time now. Did he do Lord Mayors Show and/or London Marathon ?

So - basically Sky covering Scotland with their 'own comms' but utilising 3 out of 4 members of existing teams out in Argentina (last week) and SA (this week).

Yes. It's not cheap to send out a new team though and I'm sure this is better than the off-tube commentary provided by BT against Canada.

True. To be fair I did still even fear today they would maybe be cheap and take the Supersport commentary. Surprised Hastings didn't fly to SA. I'm not complaining - limited to the studio I can live with!

He is the blue eyed boy. As soon as Wimbledon ends he will have Scottish Open golf, then The Open Championships and then Commonwealth Games
