The reason why Ross Harries wasn't presenting Scrum V Sunday yesterday was because he became a father that afternoon. Congratulations to Ross and his family.

Gareth Lewis conducted live interviews with Scarlets team manager Garan Evans and Dragons head coach Kingsley Jones as they linked up to Parc y Sgarlets after the opening edit of the afternoon's regional derby. They closed the programme with September's Try of the Month, which was won by Lloyd Lewis scoring for Cross Keys at Cardiff in the Premiership, as announced by Ryan Jones on Friday's Scrum V Live. Phil Steele dubbed in a commentary on it.

Friday 10th October - BBC Two Wales

Scrum V Live: Munster v Scarlets

Ashleigh Crowter presented from the studio alongside Jonathan Davies and Martyn Williams

Commentators: Gareth Charles and Robert Jones

Reporter: Phil Steele, with Shane Byrne providing pitchside analysis

No Ross Harries tonight, he must still be on paternity leave. Ashleigh Crowter is the sports presenter on the regional BBC Wales Today bulletins and has hosted BBC Two Wales' Welsh Open snooker coverage in the past.

There's no Welsh language commentary option tonight, with coverage of a James gig taking priority on channel 601 on Freeview. Phil Steele doubled up as BBC Radio Wales' reporter on the match during their coverage of the Wales v Bosnia-Herzegovina UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier.

Chris Hollins has presented a bit of Moto GP in the Mel Sykes debacle and other Sportshub based shows since BT started. Although not seen him on BT for a wee while.

Aviva Premiership Rugby - Sunday 12 October (BT Sport 1)

Round 6 - Wasps v Bath

Craig Doyle in the studio alongside Lawrence Dallaglio and Will Fraser.

Commentators: Alastair Eykyn, Ben Kay & Ugo Monye

Reporter: Martin Bayfield

They're getting their money's worth out of Ugo, aren't they? I presume he'll be involved next Saturday too.

Talking of next Saturday BT need to put together 3 teams. Presumably Sarries-Clermont and Leicester-Ulster will be anchored from the studio with Lawrence and/or BOD. That means they still need someone to present Glasgow-Bath on BTS2 seeing as it's a 3 o'clock start and so they can't go straight to commentary. They presumably also need a reporter on the 2 games with studio presentation. That is 4 roles in total (so Craig Doyle, Martin Bayfield, Sarra Elgan and Chris Hollins one would think).

They then need 3 commentary teams. Nick Mullins and Ali Eykyn will doubtless do two of the games, who does the third will be anyone's guess (Andrew Cotter? Wyn Gruffydd? Martin Gillingham?). If they want 3-man commentary teams then they'll be pushed for numbers there. Ben Kay and David Flatman can do one each, as can Lawrence Dallaglio if they go with BOD in the studio. Regarding the backs they have Austin Healey, Matt Dawson (presumably though I haven't seen him on much recently) and Ugo Monye (plus the option of BOD if Lawrence is in the studio). Maybe we'll see them roll out some other Celtic co-comms though.

Friday and Sunday will be like a normal Premiership Friday and Sunday presumably. They've hinted that Sunday will be studio-based, although whether they go with Lawrence or BOD or both (which would be ideal, being 1 Leinsterman and 1 Wasp) there we will have to wait and see. I would expect to see BOD involved somehow on Sunday though, seeing as it's Leinster.

I'd think Cotter and maybe Gruffydd as his voice has been on BT. Gillingham firmly back as a 'Sky' freelancer so will probably be on their coverage i'd think.

Not sure who BT will get in for Celtic pundits outside BOD. Many of the best Welsh, Irish and Scottish (ok except Hastings) pundits are on Sky.

First Utility Super League - BBC Two

Grand Final Highlights - Shown Sunday 13th October

Presenter Tanya Arnold with Brian Noble, Jonathan Davies and Jon Wilkin.

Commentary Dave Woods with Brian Noble and Jonathan Davies.

During a preview for the forthcoming Four Nations it was mentioned Dave Woods and Brian Noble will fly south for commentary with Tanya presenting from Salford. No mention of Salford based pundits yet but expect usual roster of Jonathan, Jon and Eorl Crabtree.

Preview of the European Rugby Champions Cup - Bethan Clement
Nigel Owens Travelogue (feature on Owens' trips to referee South Africa v Australia in Cape Town and Argentina v Australia in Mendoza in the Rugby Championship) - introductory voiceover by Bethan Clement

Following on from her European preview, which made up her mid-show Scrum V News section, Bethan Clement voiced some clips from the Leicester Tigers v Harlequins and Northampton Saints v Sale Sharks games in the Aviva Premiership, with both of the home teams being drawn in the same Champions Cup pools as the Scarlets and the Ospreys respectively. The clips were captioned as being "Pictures courtesy of BT Sport."

Anyone know who the commentators heard on the archive clips of Mark Ring and Charlie Faulkner shown during Rick O'Shea's feature on Brecon v St Peter's were?

Ali Eykyn put this tweet out a few minutes ago...

Quote:
“Little commentary tune-up with Brian O'Driscoll @btsportrugby today. You are all in for a Champions Cup treat. Insight like no other.”

Judging from earlier tweets Eykyn is doing Leinster vs Wasps so perhaps we'll see BOD as a co-comm on Sunday?
