Studd and Mardle really still isn't a top class pairing. Studd is ok at very best and Mardle i've warmed to in the studio, still don't like in the commentary box.
In fact Pyke and Part should get the decisive final legs in those final four line ups. To be honest, my fav darts commentator out of that lot above would be Pearson. I really hope David Croft gets a big wadge of games for the World Champs. |

Crofty, i reckon, may host the daytime coverage during the worlds and Clarky the evenings |

When Mardle first appeared in the comm box i wasn't too kean on him but i feel he has improved and as has already been said he is better as a pundit/in the studio. Studd is ok, nothing better whilst Pearson is awful and offers next to nothing and is just full of cliches. Part and Pyke are definitely the bestbest and i also find it a shame that Sky forced John Gwynne out of their darts coverage as at the time following Dave Lanning's retirement and Sid Waddell's death they had a shortage of commentators. However i didn't like neither of them pair as Lanning was simply a disgrace with his constant unnecessary digs at the BDO and Waddell had become worse over the years. He was a parody of his former self and him constantly sucking up to Taylor was cringe-worthy and it also showed how two-faced he was when after Barney's world title in 2007 he was putting Taylor down and arse licking Barney instead. His comments back then also showed how little he actually knows about darts saying that Barney was going to be the dominant force due to how tall he was!

Sunday 16th November - BBC Two Wales
Scrum V: Autumn Series Special Ross Harries presented alongside Gareth Thomas, Kingsley Jones, Wayne Pivac and Jonathan Davies, with Sean Holley at the Stat Pad and Xavier Rush at the bar Autumn Internationals Wales v Fiji - Eddie Butler, Jonathan Davies and Phillip Matthews, with Ross Harries and S4C's Dot Davies conducting interviews England v South Africa - Bethan Clement (reporting) Scotland v New Zealand - Andrew Cotter, Brian Moore and Chris Paterson Preview of Wales v New Zealand (included interviews with Piri Weepu and Frank Bunce) - Bethan Clement The programme's closing montage was on THAT All Black haka which Wales refused to back down from before the 2008 Autumn International between the sides (I was there - how lucky was I?!). I note from the programme's iPlayer synopsis that Nicky Little, the former Fiji outside-half who was one of the pundits on BBC One's live coverage on Saturday, was due to be part of the panel rather than Kingsley Jones. So I'm guessing there must have been a late-ish change. |

If he is the guy they use on Eurosport when John Gwynne is off then i really do not rate him at all. Talks far too much. Art of good TV commentary is what you don't say as well as what you do say.

totally agree
the same also with football highlights Why would they do this? They've never had a greater depth of commentators. It would also mean a series of Sky voices appearing on MOTD. They are wise to continue as they are. |
