I'm presuming BT Sport will drop down to 2 Premiership games per round whilst the World Cup finishes, partly to avoid clashes and partly because they are so short of staff. It's only Elgan, Healey and Eykyn that don't seem to be involved.

Sunday 22nd March - BBC Two Wales

Scrum V Six Nations Special

Jason Mohammad presented alongside Jonathan Davies, Gareth Thomas and Martyn Williams

Italy v Wales - Alistair Bruce-Ball, Martyn Williams and Carlo Del Fava, with Ross Harries and S4C's Owain Gwynedd conducting post-match interviews
Scotland v Ireland - Andrew Cotter, Chris Paterson and Phillip Matthews, with Jill Douglas conducting post-match interviews
England v France - Eddie Butler, Brian Moore and Thomas Castaignede

Italy Under-20s v Wales Under-20s - Amy Salem (reporting), with commentary from Nick Webb and Dafydd James
Italy Women v Wales Women - Amy Salem (reporting)

Amy Salem also introduced all three Six Nations edits and voiced the graphics of the final tables from all three championships.

While there was no Sean's spotlight analysis piece from Sean Holley or a "star at the bar," Jason Mohammad did interview Wales Under-20s flanker Ollie Griffiths after the edit of his team's game plus the Cardiff Blues' former All Black lock Jarrad Hoeata for a Southern Hemisphere perspective on the Six Nations, both of whom were among the studio audience.

The programme closed with a montage of Wales' Six Nations campaign plus the rest of the Super Saturday action, voiced as ever by Eddie Butler.

I think they are fortunate in the respect that as the tournament is in England and Wales, they can call upon people who will be able to run their ITV work alongside their usual media commitments without neglecting them.

Miles Harrison is a classic example - there won't be any European Rugby Champions/Challenge Cup matches taking place during the RWC, so he'll only really have English Championship games to cover for Sky Sports, which surely won't be scheduled against England or knockout phase matches - so I expect it'll be relatively straight forward for him to combine his work for both broadcasters (the same applies to Stuart Barnes and TV3).

Reporter-wise, this probably goes without saying but I imagine initially at least Martin Bayfield will be in the England camp, Jill Douglas with Scotland, Fran Donavan with Wales and Gabriel Clarke with Ireland. Although it might make sense for STV, HTV and UTV to have their own reporters embedded in the Celtic camps too, especially if Fran Donavan will present ITV Wales opt-out coverage - which I hope they do, with Bob Symonds and Michael Owen commentating for them (both of whom are conspicuous by their absence from the ITV press release).

The only pick for me who is a slightly dubious choice for me is Jon Champion - while I rate him highly as a football commentator, I didn't think he was a brilliant commentator at the 2007 Rugby World Cup and I believe that is the only time he's covered the sport before or since. I imagine that given his football commitments (he does the Football League international feed on Friday nights, Absolute Radio on Saturdays and the Premier League international feed on Sundays), his use will be limited to midweek pool games. Simon Ward might be similar due to his RFU and Talking Rugby agency commitments on England matchdays.

But a 1-2-3 of Nick Mullins, Miles Harrison and Martin Gillingham is a really strong lead commentary line-up for me.”

Jon Champion commentated on rugby when he was at the BBC too.

I don't think the Premiership can start until the knockout rounds. By which time ITV will require alot less staff.

I stand to be corrected but i can't remember Champion commentating on any Rugby Union match for the BBC. Yes i remember him commentating on Rugby League Challenge Cup matches, generally those on a Sunday with Ray French commentating on a Saturday. This was before Dave Woods appeared on TV, although he did cover the sport for 5Live at the time.

There is a big difference between the 2 codes and generally don't hear the same voices on the 2 codes, although there is of course the odd exception.

The Premiership will start the weekend of the RWC Quarter Finals

The first weekend of the season will probably only have two games, unless they really try to squeeze in an early double header on the Saturday (the first QF doesn't start until 4pm). The following two weekends have plenty of room to still have three games in BT Sport want to.

By that time, as LOSG says it shouldn't be too difficult for BT to put the teams together....Doyle/Bayfield hosting, Eykyn and Cotter on comms, Healey, Grayson, Monye, Flatman as analysts etc.

Back to the domestic stuff, after what feels like longer than the 3 weeks it has been...

Sarra Elgan at Franklin's Gardens with Austin Healey, Ben Kay and Andy Goode.

Hollins back from the Faroe Islands, where he was last Friday covering the eclipse, to make his first appearance on BT since the last (or possibly even second-to-last now I think about it) round of Europe. I'm not sure he'll be needed next week so it's a bit of a surprise to see him now.

Fairly sure I saw Craig Doyle in Qatar doing Moto GP on Thursday so he may be covering for him this weekend

Ah, right. Is it MotoGP this weekend then? I know he does it for them but I thought they generally went with studio presentation.

When Doyle stepped in for Mel Sykes - He went to the odd Moto GP event but generally BT host majority of the rounds from BT towers with a reporter/pundit and comms on-site.

Cheers, will be interesting to see how it pans out from here as there are Moto GP rounds on European FInals weekend, the final round of the Premiership regular season and also the day of the Premiership Final

I presume Doyle won't be doing those rounds, and also that he hadn't taken over by that time last year.

Depending on when BT have Premier League matches towards the tail end of the football season, perhaps Jake Humphrey could do those races?

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, last year Doyle only presented the main race on the Sunday, and covered rugby on Fri and Sat (this was before Hollins joined the team at all). Assuming he does the same this year, he should be fine to cover all of those rugby matches as they are one Friday and then Saturdays.

Pretty sure it was Mayish time Sykes left - and Hollins i'm sure filled in a bit, so he might do it then.

Would assume Andrew Cotter will be at the Augusta Masters meaning Legard has to step in.
