Top 14 Rugby - Saturday 13 June (Sky Sports 3)

Final - Clermont Auvergne v Stade Français

James Gemmell in the studio with Ollie Phillips and Nick Kennedy.

Commentators: Mark Robson & Ieuan Evans

Was hoping they'd give it to Harrison & Barnes really. From the introduction it sounds like Robson & Evans are out in Paris though.

Interesting to hear John Inverdale commentating on Queens tennis for the BBC right now. Mainly staying quiet during play and asking John Lloyd questions between points.

S4C didn't show the Wales game either despite showing all their group games live. They showed the NZvFramce semi though and are scheduled to show the final.
I also noticed BT did not show any group game not involving a home nation.

Considering they're using a world feed it wouldn't be too hard for them to put all the matches on at least BT Sport Extra, you would have thought.

A bit disappointing, although they have got Baku 2015 this week.

BT will have Nick Mullins commentating on the World Rugby U20s final now England are involved. Hope Ben and Austin are involved too.

As far as I know BT haven't had any studio presentation, it's just been voiceovers

The only voice i've recognised so far, on the bits I've seen, was Ronald McIntosh who was doing volleyball. Judging by his twitter account he's also going to be doing some boxing.

Was there a feed for it? Genuine question as I notice Simon Ward wasn't commentating today and was tweeting the semi-finals.

Lee McKenzie (the male one) and John Cullen are two other commentators at the European Games.

There's a world feed for all games I believe. I am slowly collating what details I can find and will post what I've got following the conclusion of the tournament.

Inverdale is usually the interviewer at Queens, are you sure you are not thinking of Andrew Castle asking the questions to John Lloyd?

On a side note Queens today (15/06/2015) coverage details were as follows:

Presenter - Sue Barker

Commentators - Andrew Castle, Andrew Cotter, Peter Fleming and John Lloyd

Interviewer - John Inverdale

Castle, Fleming and Lloyd also acted as studio pundits

Thanks for that, knew I recognised the voice on the canoeing and it would have been Lee McKenzie. Was interested by him only using the names of the countries during the races and not the names of the individual athletes

I'm sure I read somewhere that Inverdale was going to be commentating at Wimbledon as he's been dropped as the presenter of the highlights show in favour of Clare Balding.

Also, Barry Davies will be back commentating on what will be his 30th Wimbledon

Could this be a result of him presenting the French Open for ITV? I know he did it last year and also presented the BBC highlights, but perhaps the contracts had already been signed.

There may be a feeling at the BBC that they do not want a presenter who did the same role for "the opposition" .

Glad that Barry will still be involved.

No, essentially what they are doing is turning Today at Wimbledon, or Wimbledon 2Day as it will be called, into a similar type of programme to the Today at the Games shows that Balding presented. Instead of just being highlights it will have a studio audience etc

Typical of TV companies to mess with a working formula. Still, if they have to involve celebs, I'd hope they'd have an interview (recorded even) with Sachin Tendulkar.

A quick question if I may and one I may pose on the other tennis thread. I lament the recent trend of three commentators in the box which began with Channel 9 I think and has spread into football a bit and rugby union (where it works well because of backs/forwards imo). It patently does not work in cricket but are three commentators a must for a big tennis match or would two quite happily suffice?
