He was 'dropped' from the role after London 2012. Here's his blog from the time

thanks

I wonder if, from tomorrow when on BBC 2, it will be Jameson and Moorhouse

The Wales v Ireland RWC warm-up match on Saturday will be a Scrum V production with the usual team, and shown only on BBC One Wales (according to the listings it won't be on BBC NI even). S4C will be taking coverage of the National Eisteddfod at that time rather than the game, with Charlo commentating in English on Scrum V.

Has Guscott commentated before?

And is this the first time that both Jonathan Davieses have been involved as pundits in the same broadcast?

It's James Parrack and Drew Gordon (with Karri Anne Saude doing the evening on-site presentation) at the FINA Swimming Championships for Eurosport.

Both James and Drew 'had a 'mare' when commentating on the 4x100 Women's relay heats on Sunday when constantly referring to the Americans who won as that of Hong Kong*.

The usual Simon Golding and Chris Snode are/were on the diving/High-diving events

* although to be fair, even the pool lane graphic had Hong Kong down.

I'm pretty sure it is - I can't remember them sharing a panel on BBC Two Wales' Scrum V Sunday magazine show, which would have been the most obvious place where they'd share a broadcast (obviously we're not talking about matches Jon Fox Davies has played in, or shows when he's been interviewed on!), and I'm sure it's something that would have been highlighted at the time if it had already happened.

Saturday 1st August - ESPN (USA) and BT Sport 1 (UK)

Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN: Danny Garcia v Paulie Malignaggi & Daniel Jacobs v Sergio Mora

Marysol Castro presented from the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York alongside Rosie Perez

Commentators: Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas

Reporters: Bernardo Osuna (with Garcia & Jacobs) and Todd Grisham (with Malignaggi & Mora)

A six round junior middleweight contest between Prichard Colon and Michael Finney, originally scheduled for the non-televised portion of the card, was shown between the two advertised bouts after Jacobs v Mora finished early. It was just a case of Joe and Teddy commentating on it with no interviews. They also had Osuna interviewing Keith Thurman and a feature with Rosie Perez interviewing both Garcia and Malignaggi prior to the main event.

The post-fight interview with Malignaggi and the sign-off from Brooklyn came during ESPN's SportsCenter with Lisa Kerney and Jonathan Coachman, which as I wasn't watching live would guess wasn't shown on BT Sport 1.

That was the most shambolic relay I've ever seen. Graphics were all wrong for each heat, there was a huge delay between them while they tried to fix it and so the swimmers were left standing by their blocks for ages and then to cap it all there was no pre-race introductions or indication of which athletes were starting for each country. I felt for James and Drew, I presume they weren't the only commentators to get it wrong and be completely led astray.

Why did Sky cover the Wales-Ireland highlights if it was on the BBC live? Is it some autumn/friendly rights loophole?

Perhaps something to do with their Ireland deal?

BBC could probably do with dropping one of these three now. They may know what they are talking about but they are incredibly dull.

Didn't catch the name of the reporter, but it's a lady with an Irish accent that I don't recognise.

Nice and 190% biased stuff - this has been painful.
