For the BBC highlights we had John Inverdale hosting, with Eddie Butler and Jeremy Guscott, who co-commentated like he was England's backs coach, by constantly suggesting what they should do for their next phase of play.

It's partly because it's the big test event for the Olympic Stadium

Still it's normally Sky that show Barbarians "home" matches, although on reflection that's probably under the Sanzar contract in the same way that they showed NZ v Samoa and NZ v USA.

Because we need more tactics co-comm cheerleading, because Jiffy and Moore don't do that enough.

Barbarians 'home' games tend to be individually negotiated, while their 'away' games (such as England at Twickenham) tend to come under the home union contract

This game was specifically arranged for the purpose of being a World Cup major test event, hence ITV being involved

And an abbreviated form of the usual 6N/Autumn titles containing only England, France and Ireland.

It's the same team for the highlights next weekend as well.

Is this the first time Dean Ryan has been Sky's analyst since he took over at Worcester?”

Technically that's World Cup Winners Will Greenwood, Jonny Wilkinson and Sir Clive Woodward. as Sky will insist on reminding everyone!

You just wait until ITV have most of the 2003 team working as pundits during the World Cup itself.

Singha Premiership 7s - Friday 21 August (BT Sport 1)

Chris Hollins at the Ricoh Arena with Rob Vickerman and Ugo Monye. Joe Simpson, Jimmy Gopperth, Simon Amor and Brad Davis also appeared throughout the evening during the breaks between games.

I have to say I was impressed with Hollins's presentation last night, he was decent enough considering I wasn't really a fan of him, particularly in the presenting role, last season.

Haven't watched it yet, but very poor really. Hopefully next week at Murrayfield will attract a bit more effort.

BBC can send Inverdale, Butler and Guscott to France just for highlights. Amazing. Anglo-dominance.

Even if there was Presenter/pundit stuff at BT studios with on-site commentary fine. They did say/sound like they'd have more presence at Murrayfield with Chris Paterson and someone else who I can't mind of the top of my head pitchside.

Blimey is Peter Matthews still on the go ?

I did hear Tim Hutchings on BE but I cannot recall the other guys name

This is the first World Athletics Championships I can recall without hearing either Stuart Storey or Paul Dickenson.
