Who is doing Eurosport's comms?”

From the bits I saw, BBC chose to use the world feed comms for most of the sparse session early this morning with Steve Backley then doing bits around the field competitions with Brits in

This is the first World Athletics Championships I can recall without hearing either Stuart Storey or Paul Dickenson.”

Is he still commentating for any channel on athletics?

Has Paul Dickenson been dropped as well now as this seems to be a very big meeting to miss?

Those were the days on BBC when it was the late and great David Coleman, Ron Pickering, Stuart Storey and Paul Dickenson.

Storey retired from international tournaments after the Commonwealth Games. We still hear him on world feed broadcasts for Diamond League meets based in Europe. I've not heard Dickenson at all for two years.

Dickenson seemed to vanish after the Winter Olympics

No need for Kay there in the comm-box. Have a 2 man job or get Bortolami or someone to represent Italy.

Kay as usual was brilliant though. He's a great coup for ITV at the World Cup - probably the best rugby analyst on UK TV.

I hope that BT can hang on to Paterson for European games or whatever though as he isn't at all bad either.

Kay does nothing for me. Another smug English rugby pundit to add to the long pile.

Paterson's understated style like Nicol works well. Not overly keen on Mike Blair last week.

I was wondering if they would be the RWC graphics, but as you say they are incredibly old-fashioned.

The Premiership highlights are by Perform etc so just seem to use the old ITV graphics - a bit like the FLS were always a couple of years behind an in-house BBC programme. I guess ITV will freshen up their graphics for the RWC & 6 Nations ahead.

Presumably the Six Nations will use the standard graphics they seem to be going for now, and perhaps ITV will use a variation on these for their own additional graphics like they did for the Champions League.

Better than having a sad and twisted jock, who's jealous of the English.

Yeah - Although obviously BBC have a wee variant. ITV I hope do something different from their football ones currently as they are a bit drab.

I don't think there was ever a chance that ITV would debut their new rugby graphics on a minor friendly. They will want to save them for the mass audiences of England v Fiji.

Seb Hutchison was the world feed commentator, although TVNZ used the ITV commentary.

Not forgetting Brendan Foster or statistician Stan Greenberg.

I'll be surprised if Foster is still part of the BBC athletics team after next year's Olympics; he'll be the next BBC veteran to be pensioned off.
