Mullins
Harrison
Gillingham/Champion
Ward

Though as I've said I expect Ward to also be doing some work as Twickenham stadium announcer, especially for England and knockout games.

I think that's right. I'd expect MDS, Douglas and Bayfield (and maybe Donovan) to all have a go at the highlights too.

For S4C we had Gareth Roberts hosting pitchside, with Deiniol Jones and Dwayne Peel. Commentary was from Wyn Grufydd and Dr. Gwyn Jones with Owain Gwynedd doing quick post match interviews from some English players.

The score graphic (as I see from the RWC thread) was soooo close to the top some parts of the World Rugby logo on the right was partly obscured, and for half time talk about the Fiji 'no try' and whatnot it was 'ENG v FIJ', not S4C's 'LLO v FIJ'. In fact, the only times 'LLO v FIJ' were in use was when no additional graphics (ie - subs, Phase play, TMO decisions, etc) were used.

Gareth's microphone lead must've been really short, as I couldn't help but notice it didn't even head straight down to the floor, but off screen at a jaunty angle!

Sounds like S4C doing their graphics on the cheap, or as an overlay. In fact, come to think of it, what I remember of S4C's coverage during the last WC was that they just took the English-language graphics from Sky NZ.

If I recall correctly, ITV didn't use abbreviations on their half-time and full-time graphics, just team logos.

The highlights of England-Fiji on the World Rugby YouTube channel have commentary from Simon Ward and (I think) Andy Gomarsall. Presumably they were doing a separate world feed.

Yep, they were on the World Feed.

Also worth mentioning that last night ITV went with the Premiership Rugby style of highlights programme.

I think it was Alan Quinlan

Eykyn and Quinlan would have been a significantly better commentary pairing than Ward and Murphy.

Thanks, I knew it was one of the usual Sky Sports Irish pundits, but couldn't quite pin down which one it was

Was on my way back from Gloucester so didn't see any of that game, not a great combination?

With regards to the World Feed, it's been a pretty strong group from what I've heard so far

Murphy wasn't very good from what I heard. His voice didn't project very well for commebtsry, making him hard to hear.

This is on of the big problems people seem to have when they first start out in commentary.

Murphy wasn't great no. Bar Williams it is a woeful co-comms lineup.

Nothing special, no. Murphy's diction was the main problem - his points were decent but he spoke too quickly and quietly.
