Sky Sports have gone the same. It's a new graphics package Alston Elliot have rolled out today. They've said it's across three networks so I presume the other is S4C?
Is this a new set going to roll out to all broadcasters showing Pro 12 or just UK.

Matching up what they have done with the Six Nations - as the Pro 12 and 6N have the same administration.

Just UK, to my knowledge. TG4 had their own different graphics package for the Scarlets vs Connacht game on Sunday while S4C had the new set

Interesting that S4C didn't overlay the team names on the score bug with Welsh language versions (SCA instead of the Welsh SGA) ; as they did in the World Cup.

Is it true that the Munster V Stade match on SS3 has been dumped behind the red button to show big bash cricket post-match analysis??

If it's is that's disgusting to show analyses over live action..

Weird...

A lot of people were complaining on Twitter that the match was being dumped behind the SS3 Red Button to show big bash post-match stuff.

Looks like it is on SS3 now although I think it was behind the red button for the first few minutes though..

The big bash massively overran, so the first 20 minutes or so of the Munster match were behind the red button. They went back to the studio for all of 2 minutes to wrap up their coverage before sending it over to Thomond Park. Of course the rugby was available from the start on the red button and the Exeter game was on SS5.

Have to say I'm enjoying Andrew Cotter's sense of humour this evening. It doesn't seem to come through on the BBC, but in the more relaxed environment of BT Sport he's been brilliant.

Because there have been more all-French or French-Italian games, which get picked up by BT because of the picks system, he's been mostly off-tube on those games on the second channel. It's nice to see him get a bigger game because he did a great job of it in the first half.

Cotter is a very good Rugby commentator, only using him on the BBC for around 7 matches a year is a waste, so it is excellent that BT are using him. The BBC tend not to give so much room for humour as BT do, in Cotters case the only chance he can be humorous on the BBC is during the Golf when he is alongside Peter Alliss.

It's not necessarily that the BBC don't give him the room for it, it's as much about the nature of the people he commentates with. It's much easier to have that back and forth working along a Peter Alliss or Ben Kay as supposed to Mark James

Cotter has plenty of wee quips and funny moments on BBC's coverage too on the likes of Six Nations. Quite often. Also on the Golf.

His autobiography is excellent.

He explained how the Premier League tried to gag him to do an interview with Andy Townsend after a game in the 1990s. Magee, days earlier he agreed with Townsend to a post match interview. It was Townsend that explained that to a shocked PL official.

During Euro 2004 football finals in Portugal, Eusebio called Jimmy in the middle of a packed stand as he wanted to have a chat with him for about 30minutes. Eusebio told him how he lost his fortune after investing in property in Mozembique before the Civil war in the mid 1970s.

D'Arcy is the massive shock there. Otherwise it's pretty good - better than the BBC. Good to see Bortolami appearing as well. Interesting to see Jill Douglas opt for second presenter at ITV rather than sticking as a touchline reporter on the BBC.

It's still a bit 2003 TV though.

And for the Six Nations on the BBC:

John Inverdale will lead the presentation team with Gabby Logan and Jason Mohammad, with expert analysis from pundits including Jeremy Guscott, Jonathan Davies, Mike Tindall, Martyn Williams, Andy Nicol, Keith Wood, Brian Moore, Ali Williams, Chris Paterson, Lewis Moody, Thomas Castaignede and Carlo Del Fava.

The commentary team will be led by Eddie Butler, Andrew Cotter and Alastair Eykyn. Sonja McLaughlin and Lee McKenzie will be reporting from pitch-side.

I kinda hinted that with all the Welsh pundits there Williams might jump ship to ITV. Although notable that Woodward and McGeechan have too folllowing RWC. Jill Douglas had a short lived spell as secondary host on BBC's 6N and I enjoy her presenting duties so happy to see her getting some games. Not sure either channel needs a 'third' presenter - I guess for highlights possibly only. Great to see Lee McKenzie involved too.

Interesting to see the Eykyn is returning to TV commentary and is not on Radio. Therefore no ABB or McNamara this year. Doubt Eykyn will do a live match though as he will be on highlights instead.

It maybe 2003 but the BBC coverage is quite 1995 as well. Strangely from looking at both coverage details i might just say that the ITV lineup looks better than the BBC. It will be different this year but i think it could make the overall coverage of the tournament better than it was before.

That was a bit of a surprise. Unless Butler or Cotter will be unavailable at some point (and I see no reason why they would be) then it's odd that they've brought in someone who is presumably contracted TV-wise to BT Sport to cover highlights, especially given they only really need a third commentator on Super Saturday and one of their own guys (i.e. ABB or McNamara) could pick that up.

I completely agree. On the one hand there is a bit of sentimentality for the BBC coverage as it is somewhat of a spring tradition, but hopefully ITV will be a breath of fresh air. I'd expect coverage to improve regardless, in the same way that splitting the Champions Cup has markedly increased the standard of its coverage, just because resources are spread less thinly.

I do wish ITV had got hold of Austin Healey though.
