I agree. Beem and Harmon III are really good and have injected some enjoyment into the golf coverage. I can't get all the love for Critchley Murray and Riley. I caught the golf channel European tour coverage not long ago and Dougie Donnelly and Ken Brown were excellent together. no cliché's, no rubbish just good honest analysis and commentary.

Strange. I can only guess SuperSport aren't showing it in South Africa so there is no English-language world feed available.

Edit: It's on the Sky Sport NZ schedule so I don't know what they are doing. Presumably something similar to Sky Sports here as it's not being shown in SA, where it is currently half past midnight.

Sky are showing classic Super Rugby at half-time.

In another twist, there is now commentary on the second half from Hugh Bladen and (I think) Robbie Kempson.

I didn't realise Hugh Bladen was still commentating.

Does anyone know who the Australian commentator that commentated on the Dubai World Cup (and the other races at that meet at Meydan Racecourse) for Channel 4 was? I didn't hear/see them get an on-air/on-screen credit.

Channel 4 Racing had Emma Spencer reporting from Meydan, with studio-based presentation from Haydock Park Racecourse hosted by Gina Harding with Richard Hoiles (who had commentated on their afternoon racing from Haydock), Jim McGrath and Graham Cunningham. They also took the host broadcaster's interview with the Dubai World Cup winning jockey from Meydan, which was conducted on horseback!

Saturday 26th March - Channel 5

Live Championship Boxing: British Middleweight Championship: Nick Blackwell v Chris Eubank Jr

Paul Dempsey presented from the SSE Arena, Wembley alongside Billy Joe Saunders and Richie Woodhall

Commentators: Dave Farrar and Richie Woodhall

Due to the serious injury to Nick Blackwell, Channel 5 didn't broadcast their scheduled co-featured live fight - the heavyweight contest between Hughie Fury and Dominick Guinn - although contrary to their expectations, I've just found out that it did actually go ahead untelevised after Paul Dempsey had announced it would be postponed.

Instead they broadcast recorded coverage of undercard bouts Frank Buglioni v Olegs Fedotovs, commentary from Farrar and Woodhall, and Yusuf Safa v Teodor Stefanov, commentary on that from Andy Clarke and Woodhall.

Dempsey and Woodhall handled the developing news about Blackwell's hospitalisation - best wishes to him in his recovery - very sensitively and the former in particular did well to temper the immediate reactions from the Eubanks and Saunders, who are heated rivals, given the circumstances. I must say that it was no bad thing that Mark Pougatch was away on England football duty for ITV, as Dempsey is a supreme live boxing presenter who always works well with Woodhall. He did well in a very difficult situation tonight, hopefully Blackwell will be alright.

Better late than never...

Formula 1 Australian GP (SSF1/SS1)
Presenter: Simon Lazenby presenting from Albert Park in Melbourne
Pundits: Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert with Anthony Davidson analysing events on the Skypad
Commentators: David Croft, Martin Brundle with Ted Kravitz in the pitlane
Reporter: Rachael Brookes

Mainly the same team for this year although Bruno Senna has been poached by Channel 4, so Paul Di Resta will be replacing him as secondary Skypad analyst this year. Paul is also going to be a permanent pundit as he said he would be with Sky for a 'large portion of the season' and we can back that up by the fact that he has been signed by Williams as their reserve driver for this year.

Other than that the rest of the team is the same. It will be interesting to see what Sky does to the team beyond 2019 as they will have exclusive rights to F1. I hope they do revamp their team though.....

F1 Report: Australian GP Review (Sky Sports F1)
Presenter: Natalie Pinkham presenting from Sky Studios in London
Guests: Marc Priestley, David Brabham

Forgot to mention this last time I posted this but Marc Priestley is a permanent guest on the show now, defently a good signing by Sky.

Bahrain GP team details will also be late as I am on holiday on Friday and don't get back until Thursday although both the C4 and Sky Sports team will be put together in one post.

A few things to note from this weekend's Premiership:

* Kay and Healey are in my opinion a good bit better than Dallaglio and Monye. The commentary on Sarries–Chiefs was as good as I've heard for a while. Mullins/Eykyn is a closer-run thing, but I'd probably have Mullins as #1 right now.

* Dave Attwood has potential as a co-comm. Often when they get current players in they are partial and don't offer an awful lot of insight or analysis. Attwood seemed quite at home and for a first go he did a very good job.

* Play was also stopped for about 10–15 minutes in the Sale–Leicester game due to lightning over the stadium. Initially the commentators, after discussing the reasoning for the break in play, talked over highlights of the three tries that had been scored by that point. They then handed over to the studio where they continued on much the same discussion.

It is worth adding that the Kempton Park commentary was done by the on site commentator at Kempton but i cant remember his name unfortunately, who was the pundit that joined the studio for the Meydan races?

Yes I have watched back my recording of this and have to agree, Paul Dempsey is a great presenter and it a shame he doesn't have more presenting oppertunites. He is missed at Sky on the big fight nights.

Interestingly when Paul and Richie did their final link of the programme they moved from their ringside position and you could hear a fight taking place which I presume was the Fury fight. I wonder why they didn't stay on air to show it.

Also interesting that Johnny Nelson was a pundit rather than presenter on Sky Sports Fight Night's coverage of Kell Brook's latest defence.

Probably a good place to post, has anyone heard anything of John Rawling?

Not so long ago he was heard on the World feed on football commentaries and boxing commentaires, is he still around commentating?

He was on Fighting Talk on Saturday, so he's still around. I'm not sure what his commentary portfolio looks like these days though.

While BT's football coverage is quite complained about, the rugby coverage is exemplary. They have a very good selection of Presenters, Pundits and Commentators, and have done a great job at integrating current players as pundits, as you have mentioned OMc Attwood was very good, Monye was also a good addition while he was still playing for Harlequins. While i like what Austin Healey says for some reason he seems to remind me of Michael Owen when he is commentating

Mullins and Eykyn are very good rugby commentators, for me Mullins is the stronger commentator as i find Eykyn to be a bit up and down, where as Mullins seems to be the same on all games, he will be as good on London Irish vs Newcastle as he would on England vs Wales.

Rugby tonight is also a very good programme, BT really have done very well on Rugby, producing continually strong performances and they have given Rugby an excellent platform.

It really has set the bar, and it has been interesting to see things introduced or normalised by BT such as 3-man commentary teams and pitchwalks appear more frequently on other broadcasters (though the latter is something I don't especially think adds a lot).

Monye, like Dallaglio, is certainly up to the job (in particular once you get used to his sense of humour, and for some reason he seems to work better in a 2-man team than as a 3rd man), but Kay and Healey (and David Flatman to a certain extent) are a step above.

I think it's the accent that makes Austin Healey sound like Michael Owen. Owen's from Chester and I think Healey is from somewhere in Merseyside nearby. I'm not sure the accusations usually levelled at Owen (monotone and uninsightful) can really be levelled at Austin Healey however.

I somewhat agree, though I think you either love or hate Nick Mullins as his commentary style and turn of phrase are quite distinctive. Eykyn tends to play it safe a bit more.

I don't get to see it often, but it is very good. I think you can get away with that more when broadcasting rugby compared to football. Imagine if BT used their mainstream football presenters and pundits and produced something similar, with some equivalent to the smashometer and whatever else. There would be uproar.

Thanks Liam, also wasnt there a time when he took over some fights on Sky Sports when Ian Darke left over 6 years ago?

Mind you that was some time ago and things do move on very quickly.

He still does some darts doesn't he? Also seem to remember it being mentioned that he did some work on Crufts for Channel 4.

It was noticeable though that he didn't do the world feed of the Indoor World Athletics Champs. Rob Walker, Katharine Merry and, I think, Peter Matthews did it
