Nick Mullins wasn't a BBC commentator at CWG's he confirmed he was part of the world feed. BBC had no-one of their 'own' doing CWG 7s commentary. Just Inverdale and co pitchside occasionally cutting in/out of the World Feed.

Have we heard the last of Peter Alliss on BBC golf (what little they have left) after his comments about Muirfield?

I think Andrew Cotter is more likely, the dates fit in well with the athletics whereas Nick Mullins usually covers Judo as well as Taekwando which I think clashes.

Do we know why Karen Pickering has been commentating on the swimming with Andy Jamieson this week ? Usually its Adrian Moorhouse who does the co comm. I like Karen though, very good on TV and radio.

That is far more live coverage of the Open than the BBC provided. I always supported the BBC covering the open, but after the debacle on the extra day of the Open's live TV coverage in 2015, not now.
Ian. PS. What where the hours of the live Open Golf coverage on NBC/Golf Channel in 2015.

I thought ESPN had the United States tv rights until this year.

NBC/Golf took the rights for a year early from ESPN in agreement with the R&A and ESPN.

Sky announced when they got the rights they would cover it from first tee off to last putt, so was fully expecting them to be on at the back of 6am.

ESPN hosted the Open 'til last season. They showed basically the same coverage as BBC did in terms of times but used a lot of their own camera's etc too (A bit like how Sky loan/show camera's from European players at the Masters, Players etc during extra US ad's). It was on the Monday finish when the BBC didn't start coverage to 1:45pm due to 'workers having other gigs etc' that ESPN had went on air about 2-2.5 hours quicker.

NBC/Golf Channel clearly showing everything like Sky because the full Sky coverage gets going from shot 1, group 1, with I'm sure NBC/GC showing their own extra bits and pieces from US players.

He's commentating on the London Sevens today so there's a strong chance it was him last weekend too

Almost certain it was him last week commentating. Sure he is today though? I've only seen him pitchside. He's been scooping up interviews after most matches i've seen for the world feed and doubling up with some on-screen links for Sky-only viewers.

Yeah, not watched all of it, but definitely heard him do a couple today, New Zealand vs Brazil and possibly France vs Scotland

No, your're right it would have been the game after Kenya vs Portugal, they were the only two I saw first thing.

This is definitely Cox on New Zealand/Brazil

Shout out to Johnnie Hammond on his call of the Scotland 7s comeback. Might be biased (and happy ha) but Hammond for the first time delivered a memorable rugby moment call for me on the late drama!
