Edwards has been 'relegated' to 5 Live for the athletics, and they've been pensioning Neilly off for best part of a decade now so it's no surprise he's not there. Don't watch much gymnastics, but I imagine Fenner is very much one of the 'old guard' who had one last hurrah at London 2012 before getting the cut, like Dickenson, Porter and Neilly.

”

So does this mean that the ceremonies have gone back to being classed as "sports" events? (for the past decade they've come under "news and events" which is why Huw Edwards has been describing them and not a sports commentator).

Well done to Cotter, thoroughly deserved, but it confirms that it's the end of the Olympic line for Barry Davies after 12 summer tournaments.

What's the situation with Bruce Critchley these days ?

I don't watch a ton of the European Tour but seems to that some weeks and still did the US Open and US PGA majors last year (as they had longer coverage than the Masters).

With them on for 12-14 hours live golf on the Open I'd suspect he'll feature there. Not mad keen on 2 or 3 making themselves more prominent lately (Dougherty/Roe come to mind!) I think Boxall is okay but nothing special. Love Rich Beem and Butch Harmon. When I was up late and watched some of a recent ET event in china, I really enjoyed Richard Kaufman... A lot.

One of thing i've noticed (could be wrong) it seems that Sarah Stirk as stormed out as more the #2 behind Livingstone presentation wise. Last few seasons she and Rob Lee seemed to share week by week presenting duties on the PGA Tour and lesser ET events. For the weekends they do coverage all on-site for the PGA Tour last year was again 50/50 (With Lee doing some comms and presenting) but this year it has been all Stirk with Lee only doing studio stuff. Like Critchley I fully expect Lee to probs comm in the three majors coming up as they have far more air time than the Masters. Although I wonder if Sky might split the studio presentation with Rob Lee doing a breakfast type thing (like the Masters) alongside live early coverage with Livingstone doing the afternoon stuff. Dunno. Speculating.

Is it me or does Miles Harrison not really sound up for today's game? Very subdued. Surely the quietest build-up to an England-Wales game in some time as well.

Fight Night Live: WBC World Cruiserweight Championship: Tony Bellew v Ilunga Makabu

Adam Smith presented from ringside at Goodison Park alongside Johnny Nelson, Carl Froch and Glenn McCrory

Commentators: Nick Halling and Jim Watt

Reporter: Andy Scott

I think the plan was to have Carl Froch provide his analysis at the end of the every third round during the main event. I didn't watch the undercard, so I don't know if any different commentary teams were used on those fights.
