although does commentate for cricket for Star Sports which is heard in the uk when India plays at home or in ICC events.

I believe he has done quite a bit of golf commentary too. He will probably present and commentate, like he does on cricket

wouldn't surprise me if the commentary was poor because of the tv pictures being all over the place and IOC basically telling commentators to force stats down the viewers.
If anything the golf format was shambolic as well should have been nation vs nation match play, why would china, india, brazil and the places golf want the profile to increase watch golf in the olympics if they nation got limited chance of winning a medal or actually winning a game for the broadcaster to show it instead of other medal chances or team sport in the olympics.

Not sure if anyone reading this is a fan of MotoGP, but I would be interested to know who the international feed commentary team on the sport is. talkSPORT 2 have just picked up radio rights to the championship, starting with the Austrian MotoGP this weekend, and appear to be simulcasting the TV world feed, which I am not familiar with.

talkSPORT 2's studio presenter Will Gavin tweeted that the commentary team they used was Nick Harris, Steve Day and Matthew Birt - is this the correct line-up for the TV world feed and does anyone know which role each broadcaster was in? I'm pretty sure I heard a pitlane reporter during my brief listen.

Not watched Moto GP for a few years but Harris is the lead commentator / presenter of the world feed. Also does the press conferences. He was partnered by Gavin Emmett for years, but I guess he has left that now. When the BBC had Moto GP they used the world feed for the lesser class races. Also I remember a few years ago in the early days of the BBC coverage they didn't send Cox/Parish to some of the fly aways they did London studio stuff with the world feed comms on the main race.

Steve Day has been a lead commentator on Dorna-produced World Superbikes (was last year anyway) - I guess he still does that, and works alongside Emmett on the Moto GP. Matthew Birt is a co-comm/reporter.

Just noticed Di Dougherty presenting the Seniors Golf on Sky.
Is this the first tournament she has presented since Sarah Stirk arrived?

Has she done the whole event though ? Today is an extra day as it didn't finish yesterday due to bad weather

Rob Lee has presented it Thurs-Sun. I presume for whatever reason Dougherty was drafted in due to extra day. Maybe Lee needed to fly off to other the European or PGA Tour event for Thursday. Although probably the former. I doubt Sky will be on-site for the PGA tour this week (bar a reporter), but will be the following week when the playoffs start.

A weird hotch potch though over the weekend... With Thurs/Fri - Lee and Co doing the Senior Open (with PGA on red button) then the studio covered last couple of hours of PGA in the studio. Then over the weekend they has the two tournaments on SS4 and 5, with Lee and co only doing the Seniors and us getting Nick Dougherty at the Skypad introing/outroing and doing some interviews but essentially was just the CBS/Golf channel coverage with lots of blackholes etc during their breaks.

Nick Dougherty as a presenter at the start/end, 100x times worse as him as a pundit (and he is poor at the latter).

Oddly, 'Sportsday' on BBC News takes ITV4's highlight show clips of La Vuelta, rather than Eurosport's live broadcast.

Anyone know why this is?

Just a guess, but I am not sure whether Eurosport is signed up to Sports News Access Code.

That is an agreement between broadcasters which allows them to share footage from each other on news broadcasts.

Under fair dealing laws news programmes can still show coverage from other broadcasters, but SNAC makes things easier by having specific guidelines on what can be used and how. So it would make sense to use footage from another signatory than anyone else.
