Athletics on BBC One

Saturday 10 September: Great North CityGames- Gabby Logan presents. Mo Farah will join Gabby to preview Sunday’s Great North Run. Gabby is joined for expert analysis by Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson, with Phil Jones trackside. Commentary comes from Steve Cram, Andrew Cotter and Paula Radcliffe.

Sunday 11 September: Great North Run- Gabby Logan presents with live updates from out on the course with Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson. Commentary comes from Steve Cram, Brendan Foster and Paula Radcliffe. Ore Oduba presents highlights on BBC Two.
And for next year's World Athletics Championships, my money's on him to be the "morning session" presenter., following Jonathan Edwards' defection to Eurosport.

Do we know which Eurosport commentators are in New York for the US Open and which in the UK ?

As far as I am aware, Chris Bradnam, Mark Petchey, Jo Durie and Pat Cash are there and I think I heard Andrew Castle

I have heard other voices on Eurosport 2 like Simon Reed and Frew McMillan but not sure where they are commentating from

Andrew Castle and Mary Pierce currently in vision in the commentary box on Ashe. Pat Cash was interviewed onsite earlier.

I think Castle is doing the night sessions.

One major minus point on the US Open coverage now is no commentary on the extra court feeds via Eurosport Player. Sky would have the world feed on the red button

He did the Kyle Edmund match at 4pm with Chris Bradnam. Chris then stayed on to do the Jo Konta match with Jo Durie, so I think they are rotating a bit. Maybe Simon Reed and Mark Petchey doing evenings tonight

I don't think Sky did on all their feeds. Some were blank.

As are the ones on the Masters Events.

So basically are Eurosport's comms then basically all on-site on the main channels on British & International Eurosport with all player stuff comms-free?

I'm not sure I like Curling and co in the UK presenting. Feels all detached from the event. Don't know why they couldn't be on-site too when they have a good bulk of a team there anyway.

Although the comms are onsite the only commentary box is on Ashe (same set up Sky had) so anything on an outside court is being commentated off tube virtually anyway.

Curling et all not being onsite certainly hurt the coverage yesterday with so much of the Konta match dominated by talk of the humidity.

You could well be right, but certainly they had commentary for the main couple of courts, whereas Eurosport have none apart from on E1 and E2

Looks like BT Sport will be doing their own highlights shows on both Saturday and Sunday for the Aviva Premiership this season – the Saturday show is two hours long so I have to wonder whether they will do presentation for it and what the commentary arrangements will be.

In past years they haven't offered anything other than a quick voiced-over report so it will be interesting to see how commentary will work for this show and for the full-match online replays.

I can't help but think that if they are going to offer extended highlights of non-televised games then they should go the whole hog and use the BT Sport Extra service to broadcast them live.

They can't do that as they're not allowed to. The new show comes from the extended highlights rights (to all 135 games) that BT now have as part of the new deal that starts tomorrow. The deal only allows for them to broadcast up to 80 matches live.

I am aware that they are limited to 80 games as it stands (though I thought that was kicking in next season) but I do wonder how easily they could negotiate more televised games given their relationship with PRL seems to be very good and they are the sole broadcaster.

It wouldn't be as easy as some might think, mainly as it would require renegotiation of contracts with another of it's broadcast partners

On the subject of Premiership Rugby, NBCSN will be televising and streaming the live TV games in the States this season. Commentary looks to be the same as BT, but with Leigh Diffey presenting with Alex Corbisiero in the studio.

2016 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final: Hull FC v Warrington Wolves (BBC One)

Mark Chapman presenting from Wembley Stadium with Jamie Peacock,Brian Noble and Jon Wilkin. Tanya Arnold and Damian Johnson are the Pitchside Reporters. Robbie Hunter Paul is the Touchline Reporter,

Ben Proe commentated on Sky's highlights, that came with the presumably world feed BBC graphics without the BBC logos.

Can have a guess at the commentators for the weekend from that:

GLO v LEIC: Alastair Eykyn, Ben Kay and Ugo Monye
SAR v WOR: Alastair Eykyn, Lawrence Dallaglio and Ugo Monye
HAR v BRI: Nick Mullins, Ben Kay and Austin Healey
WAS v EXE: Nick Mullins, Lawrence Dallaglio and Austin Healey

I'd hoped David Flatman would be on comms on either the Friday or Sunday game, I suppose he could still be tonight but one would imagine not.
