Kate Abdo is a surprise addition. No mention of Andy Clarke either, but I would not be shocked if he and Glenn McCrory are still involved on occasion. I wonder. if Ed Robinson will be moving back to commentary.

Nick Halling has been doing some articles for Boxing Monthly. It appears that the decision was made not to renew his or Jim Watt's contracts, Watt was allowed to bow out gracefully by announcing he was retiring.

Just a point on this... Ultra extra work for such a small team today with delayed coverage yesterday, the rest of round 1 was played this afternoon, with it running into round 2. Sky Coverage started at 2pm (Along with NBC/Golf Channel in the US) but the American full coverage ended at 6pm our time (!) about a quarter of the way into round 2!!! Sky utilised the 'featured' two groups and used the 1 or 2 cameras/footage they could get to get a half decent 3 and a half hours of coverage on their own! Wayne Riley had stint in the box today (Don't think i've heard him in there before!) Was quite fun when he and Beem were together when Murray had 30-45 mins breather. Tim Barter picked up a few holes on course during that period.

Also Sky covered the (scheduled) Monday finish of last weekend's tournament live, when the USA didn't(!) and had to clean up the feed themselves as they were getting the raw CBS feed (Which had pre-recorded / tape delay etc all over it and Ewen Murray had to keep explaining that was for American viewers later not us!)

Does anyone have the commentary and presentation coverage from Sky Sports Box Office from Saturday night?

Very disappointed that Colin Murray and John Rawling are not involved. It may be that JR is available for one day if he has boxing commitments and they would be unlikely to want commentators who can't commit to both days which is why probably also George Riley isn't involved.

I do think Vassos and Dan is quite a strong line-up for main commentators. I knew it was a long shot but I was really hoping that John Part would be making a BBC comeback for this.

I'm surprised they are not using Stuart Pyke for this considering he does some freelance work for the BBC, ITV and Sky. Particularly surprised Gabby Logan isn't part of the coverage as well considering she does the annual Let's Play Darts For Comic/Sports Relief.

The BDO Darts seemed to be the last connection for Colin Murray at the BBC and i have to say im not hugely surprised he has been replaced. But i cant say i would have picked Jason Mohammad as the presenter. I agree with your commentary sentiments. A safe and solid commentary team that should be good for the tournament.

Yeah I would have been happy with Stuart Pyke as well, he is a top darts commentator. Thank god its not Gabby Logan, I love her on what else she does but don't think she would be right for this.

I'm not all to surprised that Colin Murray isn't on although its slight ironic that today he re-joined Fighting Talk on 5Live and they are doing a special show live from this tournament!

Not sure if there is anyone else at BBC Sport I would have picked though, I do like Jason though. I know it wouldn't have been likely but I would have loved it to have been Matt Smith.

Matt Smith did do some BBC work last year, i think it was as a sports reporter on BBC Breakfast. So it isnt entirely out of the question for him to be on it. but yes it is unlikely. Didnt realise that Murray was back on 5Live. He could be presenting the radio coverage then?

Surprised?! So Gabby Logan does some sports relief comedy chuck a few darts thing - so automatically is the #1 choice for a PDC darts tournament on the BBC...

In that link, one of the comments makes reference to "Sky freshening things up instead of the tired old faces on the BBC". I supposed the person who made that comment hasn't seen Soccer Saturday or their England home test match presentation!

But logical being as the tournament is taking place "on his turf" (Cardiff).

Davis Cup Semi Final Great Britain vs Argentina

Andy Murray vs Juan Martin Del Potro - John Inverdale and John Lloyd

Very surprised that Inverdale has got this one. The biggest match of the tie and it is surprising. I do wish that he would stop talking while points are in play. It shouldnt happen in tennis commentaries.

Imagine it would have been Jonathan Overend but he is in Rio for Five Live so guess Inverdale was the next available man. Most other tennis commentators used by the BBC will have other commitments this weekend.
