Davis Cup Great Britain vs Argentina

Kyle Edmund vs Guido Pella - Nick Mullins and Jamie Baker

Very surprising to see Mullins on this one, cant remember the last time he commentated for the BBC outside of Wimbledon. But the gulf in class between Mullins and Inverdale is instantly recognisable.

I was expecting Castle to be on it really considering he has been back from the US Open for over a week. Castle usually makes sure that he is available for Davis Cup matches.

Who was on Eurosport? Id assume Simon Reed but maybe Castle might have gone over.

I switched the game on initially on BBC Two, but then opted for Eurosport when I heard Inverdale's voice. I think it was Simon Reed commentating (it definitely wasn't Castle), but I didn't recognise the voice of the man alongside him.

With Reed and Bradnam covering Eurosport it does mean that Castles non appearance on the BBC is strange. Have to say i dont mind him not being there though.

I only watched ES for a few minutes (so he may have just dropped in as a guest as they do on ES sometimes) but I am pretty sure it was Jeremy Bates with Simon Reed.

Great piece, thank you for posting it bud. I do like Blowers but, as the piece suggests, there are now more voices to choose from so they all have to be kept happy. I do think his best days are behind him

I seem to be a rare person who likes Inverdale as a tennis commentator but having Nick Mullins on for just this one match was a nice treat.

I reckon the last time Mullins commentated for the BBC outside of Wimbledon will have been London 2012.

That would have been Taekwando i think at the Games. He did commentate at the 2014 Commonwealth Games on the BBC but from what i have gathered it was a World Feed commentary that they took.

Thinking about it Mullins probably hasnt commentated on the BBC outside of Wimbledon since he left for ESPN in 2010.

Otherwise known as the leftovers while everyone else jollies off to the Ryder Cup.
Although i'm sure Robert Lee will be involved, he'll probably won't be jetting off to the States which is a shame as he is much better than many of the ones that will be there..

Steve Beddow - you know it's a low rent week when they wheel him out- his voice sends me to sleep.

Hope Lee is involved but probs not sadly. Said it already. Sad that Lee has been sidelined out this season of the big tournaments. A bit Charles Colvilled.
