Commentary on Harlequins v Stade Français in the Challenge Cup tonight came from Mark Robson and Will Greenwood, with reports from Graham Simmons.

As I didn't see any of the live programme I have no idea who was presenting.

Of little interest to me as I don't follow cricket but I thought this might be of interest to some on here...

I must say I thought, in the circumstances and the short notice, Gemmell and Howe were superb in the way they handled and broadcast the situation

Not sure who is voicing the European rugby highlights on BT Sport right now but he has an incredibly strong North Walian accent.

They've gone for the report style of highlights with snippets of commentary included on games they covered live.

During US ad-breaks we are getting a PGA/US guy voiceovering/filling. Can't remember if Sky didn't do studio stuff with this last year, with it being middle of the night starts.

Henry Longhurst has been inducted into World Golf's Hall of Fame http://www.worldgolfhalloffame.org/m...class-of-2017/
In order to celebrate here's a YouTube clip - it's only 90 seconds long but as Jim Nantz says in the intro it's some of the most dramatic seconds of golf ever shown on TV.

It comes from the final day of the 1975 Masters - starts with Miller's birdie at 15 (described by Ben Wright) then cuts to 16 for Henry Longhurst's commentary on Nicklaus's famous long birdie putt and then cuts to Weiskopf watching on the 16th tee (*).

It's interesting how similar Henry Longhurst's commentary was to Verne Lundquist's when Tiger chipped in at the same hole 30 years later - Verne basically turned Henry's two sentences around and joined them up.

The CBS production values on the whole thing are absolutely fantastic - it's 40 years ago and you simply couldn't better it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmv7MLGMAHk

(*) As Henry said - Weiskopf had to take it - he was in the lead watching that Nicklaus putt - and it became the 4th time he came 2nd at the Masters - he never did win it - almost as cruel as Norman.
