The US Broadcaster DOG on the IRE-NZ game is pretty horrendous too!

Can't help but think BT will really regret not sending someone out there to do some interviews now.

Surely there must be some host ones they could take?

EDIT: That took a couple of seconds. BOD was working for NBCSN tonight by the sound of it.

Don't spoil it folks, viewers in the US still haven't had the chance to see the game start yet..........

Douglas normally does Rugby stuff for ITV.
'Normally' since only the past year. When she has done/did rugby on the BBC for 10-12 years previous.
Douglas was part of the BBC Olympic coverage and has been working for BBC in other events as well, so it isnt out of the question that she could have been part of the coverage

Eykyn and Grayson are both excellent commentators, and are doing a very good job tonight, but it's still a little bit disappointing.

And of course that wasn't a Home Nations game, so host commentary on that sort of game is what we have every time, however awful it might be.
There is still an argument that it could be a Home Nations match with Ireland having Northern Ireland players as part of their teams. But only England would get the expanded coverage, if it had been Scotland vs NZ yesterday it would have most likely have been the same coverage.

Todd Harris, Brian Hightower and Dan Lyle were the commentators for NBCSN at Chicago while Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall were the commentators for domestic consumption in New Zealand.

I was referring to the NZ-USA game a couple of years ago not being a Home Nations game, though I agree that had it been England playing the All Blacks Alastair Eykyn would be getting on the next plane along with Kay, Healey and Bayfield to do coverage from out there. Such is the world of commercial TV.

Was Tony Johnson involved as well for Sky NZ (perhaps on the sideline?), as I've seen clips of the US Eagles game with the Maori All Blacks on the Friday and it sounded like he was commentating on that (it certainly wasn't Grant Nisbett on that one)? Would seem strange to fly him out to Chicago and only use him on the more minor game.

I am beginning to doubt my own information as RTE Radio broadcast the end of the match (in delay this afternoon) and I am sure that they ascribed the commentary to GN and JM but I could be wrong.

International Rugby Union – Saturday 5 November (BT Sport 2)

Ireland v New Zealand

Commentators: Alastair Eykyn and Paul Grayson

This is a little bit of a poor show from BT. Could at least have found an Irish voice, to say the very least.
On Eir Sport 2

Connor Morris presented with Pat Lam, Gordon D'Arcy and Neil Francis

John Forrest & Liam Toland were on commentary.

To complete the lot:

International Rugby Union – Saturday 5 November (S4C)

Wales v Australia

Gareth Rhys Owen at the Principality Stadium with Andrew Coombs and Dafydd Jones.

Commentators: Gareth Charles and Gwyn Jones

Reporter: Owain Gwynedd

Strangely S4C appeared to overlay their graphics on top of the dirty BBC feed.

Tony Johnson did sideline duties on Saturday

Incidentally BT had Andrew McKenna and Alex Corbisiero on USA Eagles vs Maori All Blacks

Premier Sports, not Eurosport, will show France's games in the Autumn rugby internationals.

Not Sky? They've had them for the last few years.

Surprised that neither Jill Douglas or Sonya Mclaughlin aren't on this one. Or has Douglas completely left the BBC Rugby coverage now?
Jill Douglas was working for the BBC at the weekend doing the interviews at the track cycling World Cup meeting in Glasgow.

Not sure if she will pop up on the BBC's rugby coverage over the next few weeks but she is on ITV4 snooker duty this week.

I'm not sure if it was the reason Sonja McLaughlan wasn't on but I did see something on twitter about her having a bad back?

Well that is disappointing. Anyone know if someone's picked up Italy's matches? Can't see their game against the All Blacks this weekend listed anywhere.

Interesting thanks for that, the BT Sport TV Guide is showing them broadcasting South Africa v Senegal WCQ at that time. Bit odd.

The Sky EPG shows that the Rugby is on.

Women's International Rugby Union – Wednesday 9 November (Sky Sports 1)

England v France

James Gemmell in the studio with Maggie Alphonsi and Kat Merchant.

Commentators: Johnnie Hammond and Sue Day

Reporter: Laura-Jane Jones

Strangely Sky are taking France Télévisions graphics despite the game being played at The Stoop, with England abbreviated annoyingly to "GBR".

New column from Andy Clarke http://www.talkingboxing.co.uk/on-the-road-november-5

This part stood out to me:
'The commentary world, for the most part, is populated by people who are always happy to help you out if they can with advice, contacts and referrals. I always try and pass on jobs that I can’t do to colleagues I know and like, and it’s not a case of expecting anything in return...Inevitably there are some sharks out there, but I’ve been doing this long enough now to be able to spot the fin in the water (I’m not talking about the boxing world by the way, football’s the worst, probably because it’s the most saturated and most competitive market).'

Not even an Honourable mention for Jonathan Agnew is a bit wrong for me. But including Mark Nicholas in that list is nice to see.
