I'm sure he was there Friday, but I saw nothing on a particular horse racing forum mentioning his absence (if he was).

It was Johnnie Hammond and Alan Quinlan in the box for NZ vs. Ireland with Sean Fitzpatrick and Paddy Wallace in the studio. James Gemmell presented that one too, you're right the Difference he presents most of their super rugby (with Rupert Cox as backup) and is Alex Payne's number 2 since Lazenby got the F1 gig.
Anyone know if the commentators are onsite in NZ by the way, they definitely were in AUS and almost certainly Miles & Stuart are in South Africa. ![]() Over on ESPN Jill Douglas presented the Top 14 Final between Tolouse and Toloun with Nick Kennedy. Commentary from Martin Gillingham & Peter Richards. |

I've got a webcast of Canada V USA in the rug-bo on now (coresportsnetwork.ca), it sounds as though they are relaying a radio commentary feed. |

Who is doing the tennis from Queens this week ?
Andrew Castle, John Lloyd and Peter Fleming are there. Yesterday they used Barry Davies and today ??? who is it ? ( not Andrew Cotter as EPG says ) |

I think they used Jonathan Overend today. I only saw a small amount though so can't be sure.

Yep that's right. Andrew Cotter has been listed all week (and was there Monday interviewing in the rain) so perhaps he is ill and hence the last minute stand-ins?

He's not ill, Iain Carter (the BBC's golf correspondent) has broken his leg and so cant travel to the US Open, therefore Andrew Cotter has gone out as a replacement to commentate with Russell Fuller (as Conor McNamara and Jon Murray who also cover golf are presumably busy with Euro 2012). Carter is hosting the coverage from London instead.
Overend is an obvious substitute for Cotter at Queens, though Davies's use does surprise me slightly - though it is a good thing to hear from him. Even if Overend was still in transit from Paris on Tuesday, it is a surprise that a 75 year-old was called-up as a last minute replacement ahead of younger tennis commentators like Chris Bradnam or Simon Reed. |

Poor Iain Carter. Good luck to him and hopefully he'll be up and about ready for The Open. Cotter is a great replacement for Iain too. I'm glad that, unlike the Masters, Chris Evans isn't inflicted on us at the US Open.

I wonder do you think Nick Mullins will get higher profile matches for Wimbledon now that he is ITV's prime commentator for the French Open (he did the men's final this year)? |

I agree, I always feel Andrew Cotter is better on the golf than tennis ( he's the best golf commentator around IMHO), he'll do an excellent job. Are they using Jonathan Overend as a commentator or reporter? I love Barry Davies though, I much prefer him to Andrew Castle, so glad he's being used.

I agree about Barry too. Legend, best there is. Cotter is going to be as good as the versatile greats like Davies/Coleman etc I feel. I think the BBC think that too. Not a fan of Andrew Castle, too smug and smarmy and has too much to say. Biggest disappointment of ITV coverage for me was Jim Courier. Did not like him one bit. |

Who are people expecting to be joining David Livingstone and Butch Harmon in the studio for the US open golf coverage?
Pretty sure last year it was David Howell but I think he is playing in a Euro event this week. Maybe keep it in house and go for Mark Roe Expecting the rest of the team to be as normal, Ewan Muarry and Bruce Cricthley in the commentary box along with Butch Harmon and AN other. Howard Clark on the course and Tim Barter interviewing players. Maybe Rob Lee will be out there Really hope its not Montgomerie, has a awful habit of turning the conversation to all about himself |

I was wondering redandwhiterob why Steve Beddow never goes out for the big tournaments? Can anyone answer, not that I think he's that great, but, he appears on nearly all Sky's golf apart from the majors and I think he's at least as good as some of the others they have.
I suppose it would be nice for Sky to reward his loyalty with a major or bigger tournament every now and again |

Canada V Italy (RU Friendly from BMO Field, Toronto)
Nigel Reed and Brian Spanton for TSN2 (Canada). During half time they showed some 'highlights' of Canada's Rugby World Cup exploits last year, which consisted of a few tries against Japan, and some against, like Vs France and New Zealand. |

I've no idea who the commentators are for Fiji V Scotland on ESPN, but not only is the picture going black and white every now and then, I'm also getting a test tone noise.
Should be fun. |
