Sky can get on-site commentary and a reporter (as well as London studio coverage) of the Bordeaux v Exeter game with the latter practically out but last week on BT... Glasgow had a make or break game, but still in their pool and it got an offtube commentary with no reporter or studio coverage... Really poor form. Clashing game or not.

So in the end they do a big loop de loop by bringing Hammond home from France to do an offtube French game then Gillingham after doing an offtube game for BT, flys out for Sky. 😂😂
Maybe Sky didn't want to straight copy having Gillingham and May on the least interesting game together copying what BT did yesterday with them. ![]() Amazing how both May and Gillingham just bounce between both channels over the European weekend(s) without a major problem but it basically doesn't happen in any other sports between the two channels. |

I was very impressed with what I heard from Dan Biggar today, given I don't think he's done punditry before. Certainly could go down that avenue after retirement IMHO if he so wished.

Has Andrew McKenna done any commentaries on the European rugby over the past fortnight? I noticed that Nick Heath sat in for him as the host of this Sunday's Rugby Show on talkSPORT 2. |

I think he may have done a bit of studio punditry for BBC Wales' Scrum V Sunday in the past, although no one particular show springs to mind. From what I've heard from him during in-depth player profile interviews on shows like that, I've had him pegged as potentially being strong punditry material, so your appraisal doesn't surprise me.

I'm also reading from the TV Forum that Matt Smith & Chris Mason will be hosting the BT Sport coverage of the BDO Darts. So looks like Ray Stubbs has fully left BT Sport with him focusing on talkSPORT now. Also reading that John Rawling will be part of the commentary team for C4, not sure if it's going to be shared between the two broadcasters again like previous years.

John Gwynne back on Sky doing the odd guest commentary again at the PDC Worlds.
No idea where they find these terrible post game interviewers. Woeful. Also last couple of PDC tournys on Sky, the amount of times the darts player has to have a question repeated for the noise is ridiculous. -- Rupert Cox and Dewi Morris on Brive v Lyon in the Top 14. Not sure on Cox. Okay on the lively 7s stuff but hard to listen to on the 15-a-side. |

Posted this elsewhere but the PGA Championship - the final golf major - rights were up on Sky... Nothing has been officially announced about a new deal... However I see Sky have been running promos over the weekend during their golf coverage saying that in 2017 they will have all four majors...
BUT: Now here we have their web article "Sky Sports in 2017" (link below) and guess what: "2017 promises to be another great year for golf. Having captured the end-of-season FedEx Cup, Rory McIlroy will be looking to win that elusive green jacket at The Masters which starts on April 7, with all four days live only on Sky Sports. The 146th Open Championship, live on only Sky Sports, heads to Royal Birkdale for the tenth time, while the US Open will be staged for the first time at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. We will also show live coverage of the unofficial fifth major, the Players Championship, plus every event on both the PGA Tour and European Tour as well as Europe's bid to regain the Solheim Cup in August." So no mention of the PGA Championship - looks to me as if the rights have indeed not yet been renewed. http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...-and-much-more |
