Agree 100%, brilliant line up.

For the record Sue Barker is hosting and she was courtside with Tracy Austin & Martina Navratilova aswell as the commentators Davenport & McEnroe

As expected ESPN have said that John McEnroe will be working their coverage of the Men's Final, alongside his brother Patrick and Chris Fowler

Because he has been commentating for BBC the whole tournament. It doesn't make much sense to do the final for another broadcaster. He might have been working for ESPN as well earlier in the tournament though.

He has been working for the BBC and ESPN during the tournament.

In previous years he would work for the BBC and NBC, always doing the men's final for the American audience.

It's a shame that the BBC never gets to use him for the men's final, but I don't see the situation changing any time soon.

Ok. Thank you for clearing that up. As an outsider (this is the first time I'm watching Wimbledon on BBC) I always got the impression that John McEnroe was the main BBC pundit for Wimbledon, hence assumed that he always did the final. But I was mistaken there.

Wonder why they don't do it like the cricket and golf where commentators flip from one channel to another?

He is basically the BBC's main pundit, but he's here first and foremost for the American Broadcaster (As mentioned NBC up until this year when ESPN picked up the rights) and they get "first dibs" as it were.

The BBC just make use of the fact that he's over here, and pay him to do a match a day (plus other punditry) for them. He has never done the gentlemen's final for the BBC.

I know that Peter Alliss is shared between ABC (in the USA) and the BBC for golf but can think of no others. I am not sure which cricket commentators are shared between tv companies.

Logistics essentially, the BBC commentary box and the ESPN one are at opposite ends of the court so it isn't possible to straight forwardly switch from one to the other.

In golf it only tends to happen for events where they are on air for long periods of time (ie all day) and have time to make their way from one studio to the other. For regular PGA tour events the same commenatators are used because of the nature of the agreement and it's the same facilities/studios being used.

In cricket it's easier, again because of time, but also because most media centers now have all the broadcast boxes next to each other

It does happen occasionally. Shane Warne did work for both Channel 9 and Sky during the last Ashes series (I think), David Lloyd and Nasser Hussain both did stints for ESPNStar when India were over here last summer, and I definitely remember Michael Atherton being on SKY Sport when England were in NZ in 2008

Wimbledon Men's Final (BBC1 HD) - Andrew Castle, Tim Henman and Boris Becker
Men's Final (3D) - Barry Davies and Greg Rusedski
Mixed Doubles Final - Simon Reed and Tracy Austin

On the credits after the men's final, Richard Krajicek and Kevin Plowman were listed as commentators - anyone know if / when they were used? Although we heard Chris Bowers and Doug Adler a few times, they must have been specifically 'world feed' as they weren't listed.

I was going to ask the same thing. Krajicek was part of 5 Live's team but I didn't hear him on TV.

Having just googled Kevin Plowman I suspect he commentated on the wheelchair events.

Nice work Darren

Re the list: Womens QF between Kirilenko v Radwanska had Tracy Austin do the closing stages that were on Centre, replacing Smith for those few games
