Anybody know why Sky have reduced their Test match highlights in an evening from 2 hours down to 90 minutes?

I think the late hour at which its getting its first airing (unavoidable given live sport on all 4 channels). It was two hours on Thursday.

Having said that I think 90 mins is the perfect length - 2 hours can drag a bit, and an hour seems too short.

A little out of date I know but who did ITV4 coverage of Tour De France please

As some may have noticed I'm not doing match-by-match cricket listings any more, but I'll still dip in with some little updates every now and then:

Under 19 World Cup

All the TV matches so far have been presented by Matt Floyd, with Mark Ramprakash (Eng v Aus, Ind v WI, Ind v Zim, Eng v Nep) or Shaun Udal (Aus v Nep, Eng v SA)

Commentary from the ICC World Feed. For the group matches Ian Chappell, Danny Morrison, Pat Symcox, Wasim Akram and Sanjay Manjrekar. Joined for the Eng v SA quarter-final (and presumably the remaining knock-out matches) by Alan Watkins

England v South Africa - 3rd Test

David Gower presenting and commentating, with Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Sir Ian Botham, David Lloyd, Shaun Pollock and Michael Holding making up the commentary team.

Highlights presented by Charles Colvile with Bob Willis and Mark Butcher

Sorry, for some reason I've been calling him Alan Watkins all day - not a clue why, as I've always known he's called Alan Wilkins

it would have been more interesting if there was another south African commentator in the last session, what a day and what a game.

Heh, Brian Smith did the Vuelta highlights for ITV4 earlier today and now he's doing the live US Pro Challenge on Eurosport 2.

He must have got a supersonic jet from Spain to Colorado

You've made this point over and over again. It's not going to happen, get over it.

For the record I think one overseas commentator alongside one neutral is good enough.

Was Ian Botham on at all today? I saw most of the days play and can't remember hearing him.

He was, including his Review of the Summer which is always one of the lowlights of Sky's coverage!

Gower talks it up as if its the stuff of legend, when in reality its Beefy's monotone voice talking over pictures we've seen plenty of times before.

Sanjay Manjrekar is commentating in the india vs new zealand series.
also the new Graphics are better then the neo ones, and it looks familiar to the channel 4 ones in the past.

A tour of 2 test matches and 2 t20s. For gods sake who sanctions this rubbish. Its not that there's too much cricket being played. Its too much pointless cricket that doesn't matter the moment the "series" is over.

For those that are interested the play today has been available via skygo.

why are you getting so angry about this tour, it not a bad tour really, it give the chance for the Indian youngster to adjust to test match cricket, and it was 3 test match tour, but because of the 20/20 world cup both team decided it would be better to scrap one test match for 2 20/20s

Its pointless and serves no purpose at all. Just cricket for the sake of it because there's a small gap in the calender.

In the past 10 months New Zealand have played (will have played) 2 test matches series' on 3 occasions and a single test series. None of which will have served any purpose.

If they hadn't toured the West Indies as a loose example they might have been able to fit in a full tour here, with 4 test matches.

If the West Indies hadn't have toured England, their home series with Australia could have been 5 tests, and England's home series with South Africa could have been 5 tests. (all in theory)

It really needs an overall body to sort out the fixtures and not left down to the individual boards to look after their own interests.

Star Cricket's coverage of Indian home Test matches was a slight improvement on what we got from Nimbus, based on the first day.

The same Nimbus graphics were used (not a problem as the Test ones are good - I hope that the idea of different graphics for different fomats is ditched), although we still get not one but two BCCI logos on screen at all times.

There was no Sunil Gavaskar, though Ravi Shastri and more disappointingly Laxman Sivaramakrinshnan were retained. Sourav Ganguly, who covered ODIs but not Tests for Nimbus last year, came in whilst Sanjay Manjrekar made a welcome return to Test coverage. Simon Doull and Craig McMillan were the Kiwi representatives.

Sky's coverage was perphaps of more interest. With all six regular presenters otherwise engaged during this match - Gower at the ODI tomorrow, Ward, Colvile, Allott and Knight at domestic cricket including T20 finals day on Saturday and Matt Floyd doing the U19 World Cup, Jeremy Coney stepped up to present. Murali Kartik made his debut as a pundit, whilst Iain O'Brien returned after doing a handful of days a couple of years ago.

be interesting to see what he say about England and it's players, bit weird for a current player still playing international cricket, commentating in a cricket game.
