Can anyone tell me the NBA commentators on Sky Sports right now? If only for how hilariously awful they are. Only caught the reporter's name (Julie Collins).
Was wondering the same myself! I wonder if they're the same they use on the domestic basketball? Just watching this out of curiosity as much as anything but thought there would be more discussion on these forums about it.

On domestic basketball it is usually Dan Routledge (unique accent that sits halfway between Toronto and Leicester) paired with a player, coach or other guest co-commentator.

...For example on Sunday's Cup Final Dan was with Milton Keynes Lions owner Vince Macaulay.

I didn't hear any of tonight's game - it was over by the time I switched to it.

Kevin Cadle was the presenter, with John Amaechi OBE joining him in the studio.

It was Mike Shaft and Rob Paternostro commentating.
The reporter was Julie Collier, and ahead of the game, Kevin Cadle was on the court with Rob Paternostro, John Amaechi, and the NBA commissioner David Stern.

Rob Paternostro is the coach of the Leicester Riders Basketball team, and after a quick Google search, Mike Shaft is a commentator who did British basketball on Sky around 15 years ago.

Rob's been in British basketball for well over a decade now, but even before coming here as a player he had done some TV work on ESPN's college basketball coverage in the US.

Can't understand why anyone would employ Shaft.

Edit: In his closing, Cadle thanked "Daniel and Carl"... was there an alternative commentary on the red button perhaps?

Edit2: Ah, it was 3D.

Thursday 17th January - MLB Network and MLB.com

World Baseball Classic Roster Announcement Special

Greg Amsinger presented alongside Dan Plesac and Bill Ripken, with Heidi Watney co-hosting.

The MLB Tonight Special, which did exactly what it says on the tin by announcing the 16 WBC rosters, was an hour long show at 4pm ET (9pm GMT) from the usual MLB Network Plaza studios in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Earlier in the day (at 10am ET/3pm GMT), the MLB Network exclusively unveiled the USA's roster ahead of the other 15 as part of a Hot Stove special with Matt Vasgersian and Bill Ripken, which was also streamed on MLB.com.

Newport-Gwent Dragons V London Wasps (Amlin Challenge Cup RU)

S4C - Gareth Roberts hosted from Rodeny Parade with Dr. Gwyn Jones as analyst. Commentary from Wyn Gruffydd and Arthur Emyr with Rhodri Gomer-Davies interviewer.

Sky Sports - Johnnie Hammond and Matt Perry (Info via a Twitter acocunt I 'follow')

S4C couldn't show the game live on 'normal TV' but they did show it last night around about 11pm. It was live however, through the rugby section of their website. All I saw when trying to watch it beginning was a nice testcard, so I gave up.

I was at the Alexandra Palace this evening for the Selby v Williams quarter-final, Rishi Persad and Steve Davis presented this evening's BBC Two coverage between 7-8pm with former also presenting the evening highlights.

During the audience warm-up before they went on-air, Rob Walker mentioned that tonight was Rishi's last night with the BBC after being part of their snooker coverage team since the 2007 Grand Prix from Aberdeen. Not sure if this is common knowledge, I think most have heard that he's joining the Channel 4 Racing team but I didn't know he was leaving the BBC as of the end of The Masters, but I thought it worth sharing in case it wasn't.

Men's Downhill, Wengen

Matt Chilton and John Clarke for British Eurosport 2 (HD). During commentary they've also been coverting kph to mph they say 'for the benefit of our British and North American viewers'. Does this mean this is a World Feed type thing?

I did like Matt's description of what some skiiers have been doing whilst coming over the jump in the course of 'winding down the (car) windows' to keep some kind of balance

I didn't bother posting BBC Presenting details because BBC NI never bothered showing the 7pm-8pm hour when the BBC had it on so it would have only been for the afternoon sessions.

If I remember rightly Rishi only joined as secondary presenter when Hazel was on maternity leave and Ray Stubbs stepped up to number one and he stayed on when Ray left in 2009. I assumed he was staying on with the BBC for Snooker as he has been on this week but maybe he decided to go full time with Channel 4 covering Racing every week after the World Bowls next week.

I wonder who will be thrown in at the deep end for the World Championship at the Crucible for their first Snooker tournament presenting for the BBC, maybe Colin Murray as he hosted the Davis v Taylor documentary in 2010 or maybe someone like Mark Chapman

T20 Cricket

Big Bash League Final-Perth v Brisbane (Sky Sports)

Presenter: Matt Floyd with Dominic Cork and Jason Gillespie
Commentators (Fox Sports): Brendon Julian, Damien Fleming, Greg Blewett, Allan Border, Tom Moody and Mark Waugh
Reporters (Fox Sports): Sarah Jones and Jessica Yates

With so many BBL matches over the last month or so, it's been tricky to keep up to date with the presentation, but Floyd presented every game for Sky, usually with two of Cork, Gillespie or Ian Harvey, although a few other pundits were used, including Ravi Bopara, Angus Fraser and Ed Joyce. Plus there's probably one or two others I've forgotten or didn't see.

Fox Sports used three commentators on every game (except the final), with all three on air for the entire match. All of them got a run out in the final except Chris Cairns, who did a few group matches.

Quality-wise it's not been the best tournament, just like a lot of these domestic T20 competitions, but it has had it's moments-such as Wednesday's remarkable semi-final, and it's been a nice addition to the schedules.

Agreed, one of Murray or Chapman will be the secondary presenter for the World Championship.

Going back to Rishi, his situation is similar to Clare Balding's. Although technically freelance, clashes with exisiting BBC commitments against C4 racing have made it untenable for him to continue in a sport presenting capacity at the BBC.

Theres been a few other voices on British Eurosport but i'm never sure of the names. David Mercer and Nick Brown are defiantly another two however.

There have been others on British Eurosport 2 (I'm assuming offtube) including Matt Chilton.

I haven't seen much but I've heard David Mercer on BE.

At the start of BE2's coverage last week Matt Chilton handily went through their team. He said they would be working in teams in 3 hour blocks. He would be with Chris Wilkinson, then Jason Goodall & Arvind Parmar, Guy McCrea & Lucy Ahl and Chris Dennis & Paul Hand.

I cannot see anyone else that the BBC would use apart from Chappers and Murray unless they get Rob Walker to host after his does his introductions.

As for the people who host Snooker on other channels Matt Smith won't move as he has plenty of work on ITV while Andy Goldstein has enough on Sky with the Premier League and Shootout and his talksport show.
