Willie Thorne's brother, Malcolm, died from cancer last week, which probably explains Willie's absence from the BBC's Masters coverage.

Small shock is that not? Shows how good Andrew Cotter is getting the nod ahead of Butler for the Calcutta cup game...

Maybe, but Ireland v Wales is arguably the most alluring fixture of the weekend- according to Eddie himself in The Observer.
Cotter-Moore gives an equal Scotland-England split as well, although it has tended to be Butler-Moore in the past. |

As far as I remember, Cotter did the Calcutta Cup match with Moore last season, and possibly the season before that. I'd tend to agree with Eddie - it just so happens that without a 'proper' 3rd commentator (since Nick Mullins left for ESPN) that one of them will work on two games - one being high profile, the other not so.
They do tend to pair up the commentators by nationality - with that in mind, I'm thinking that Eddie Butler and Phillip Matthews will be the pairing for the Ireland-Wales match. |

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the commentators for ESPN on the Carribean T20, I don't have the channel myself? Been looking everywhere, could anyone (possibly arius?) help?

Cricket (Sky Sports)
Pakistan v England - 1st Test (Tuesday 17th January - Thursday 19th January)
Presenter: David Gower Pundits: Marcus Trescothick and Bob Willis Commentary from Ten Sports team of Ramiz Raja, Aamer Sohail, Waqar Younis, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Sir Ian Botham and David Lloyd Highlights were presented by Charles Colvile with Mark Butcher and Robert Key South Africa v Sri Lanka - 3rd ODI (Thursday 17th January) Presenter: Paul Allott Pundits: Robert Croft and Alec Stewart Commentary from Supersport team of Kepler Wessels, HD Ackerman, Craig Matthews, Russel Arnold, Robin Jackman, Mike Haysman, Pommie Mbangwa and Makhaya Ntini (third commentator in the commentary box on a couple of occasions) South Africa v Sri Lanka - 4th ODI (Friday 20th January) As per 3rd ODI South Africa v Sri Lanka - 5th ODI (Sunday 22nd January) As per 3rd and 4th ODIs Makhaya Ntini is dreadful and has added nothing during his spells as 'third commentator' during this series. Hopefully Supersport soon abandon this as the rest of the team has been going from strength to strength over the last couple of years and is now, in my opinion, second only to Sky in having a knowledgeable and listenable to commentary team. Channel Nine are still right up there on entertainment but a lot of them seem out of touch with modern international cricket and generally a little too quick to right off any opposition player whilst backing their own and get carried away with single individual performances, particularly if they are by an Australian. |

^^^ Yep - The Eurosport 2 guys, Chris Wilkinson, Paul Hand, Guy McCrea, Lucy Ahl, etc are all back home in the UK. Meanwhile, for fans of rugby union, the RFU will be streaming the Women's Six Nations game between England and Ireland, going by this e-mail I received yesterday:- Quote:

Rugby fans will be able to watch live web streaming of England Women’s final RBS 6 Nations match against home nations rivals Ireland in March. Through RFU.com, the match on March 17th at Esher RFC will be available at www.rfu.com/englandwomenlive ahead of the 2.00pm kick off. Users will be able to watch the match live and then in full for up to three days after the match, while highlights of England’s games against Scotland, Italy and Ireland will also be available on RFU.com. With England looking to defend their Grand Slam crown and secure a seventh successive Six Nations title this series is set to be a thriller. England kick off their campaign against Scotland on February 5th before travelling to Italy on February 12th. England’s first home game is against Wales on February 25th at Twickenham Stadium and the match will be live on the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website. England are back on the road again for their penultimate match against France on March 11th before the defending champs take on Ireland. An impressive five camera feed with match commentary from some of the game’s leading commentators and former England stars, as well as post-match interviews, will provide rugby fans with broadcast quality viewing as England and Ireland go head-to-head. RFU Digital Editor, Tom Hines, said: “Over 6,000 people watched RFU.com’s live streaming of England Women’s autumn tests against New Zealand. With the women’s game growing all the time and England defending a Grand Slam, there’s a growing appetite for watching England’s Elite Women that we need to satisfy.” |

Ospreys V Newport-Gwent Dragons (LV= Cup RU)
(S4C) Sarra Elgan hosting from the Brewery Field in Bridgend with Dr.Gwyn Jones as analyst. Commentary from Wyn Gruffydd and Derwyn Jones. Rhodri Davies is the interviewer. For those who didn't want to see the match, the Ospreys have handily blown up an inflatable slide behind one end of the pitch. |

Snooker Shootout
Andy Goldstein hosting for Sky. Commentary from Phil Yates, Clive Everton, Mike Hallett, Neal Foulds, Willie Thorne and Jimmy White. Willie wasn't there on Friday and Jimmy was playing (for 10 minutes anyway) so there may have been some other summarisers used then. |
