So who IS there for Eurosport ?
I think it's like last year where those on the international coverage (Simon Reed, Frew McMillan, Mats Willander etc) are all in Melbourne, but those on the British Eurosport 2 coverage (Matt Chilton etc) are all off tube.

No BBC Scotland opt-out for the later game?

The red button option I am sure will include BBC Radio Scotland's commentary.

Asked John Beattie on Twitter...

@CallumRadioDJ no it's network commentary we are doing @BBCRadioScot instead
So I guess with the balance of a Scot in the comm-box and in Punditry it will be even!

You are right with the red button though

Sunday 29th January - Sky Sports 2 and Sky 3D

World Snooker Shoot-Out 2012

Andy Goldstein presented from the Circus Arena, Blackpool alongside Willie Thorne

Quarter-Finals

Dominic Dale v Graeme Dott - Phil Yates and Willie Thorne
Mark Davis v Barry Hawkins - Phil Yates and Willie Thorne
Martin Gould v Dave Harold - Clive Everton and Mike Hallett
Barry Pinches v Tom Ford - Clive Everton and Neal Foulds

Semi-Finals

Barry Hawkins v Dave Harold - Clive Everton and Neal Foulds
Graeme Dott v Tom Ford - Phil Yates and Willie Thorne

The Final

Barry Hawkins v Graeme Dott - Phil Yates and Mike Hallett

The whole event was also streamed on the Perform Group's Watch&Bet service, with them taking the Sky gallary feed similar to how Ladbrokes.com have streamed the PDC World Darts Championship every year since becoming title sponsors. It sounded as if the Sky 3D commentary was the same as that of Sky Sports.

3D Snooker commentary was the same, The Difference. I imagine there can't be too many weird angles/replays that will defer from the main coverage!

How far behind is the Eurosport coverage on the snooker ? Few times something has happened and the commentator has mentioned it 2 seconds later

Yesterday Mike Hallett said " he needs to avoid the yellow" when he had already hit it.

Must be 2 to 3 secs behind the pics

BBC Two Wales - 'Redzone' commentary from Rick O'Shea and ex-HTV guy Rhodri Williams and Dafydd Jones
That's interesting - the connection between Rick and Rhodri is that they were/are co-owners of the Cameo Club in Cardiff. It's not the first time they've worked together in the media either; I've read that Rick used to appear as a guest on one of Rhodri's old talkSPORT programmes The Rugby Show from time to time during the late 2000s (that being said, as a semi-regular listener to it at the time I never caught any of his appearances on that show).

I always thought they'd be a time when Rhodri would pop up on Fanscene/Redzone; as they've had "special guests" like Carolyn Hitt and Jed Thian joining them in the past; although I'm surprised it's taken this long for him to appear.

Question about ESPN's rugby coverage: I caught a little bit of their coverage of the French Top 14 this evening. Does anyone know who their regular commentators on the league are? I don't think it's something that's been mentioned on here before.

Martin Gillingham & Andy Gormasall.

They also use Simon Ward, Andy Smith and others.

Ryle Nugent & Donal Lenihan did the U20 game for RTE.

Can't say I'm watching but whenever i've seen it coming on sounds some sort of world feed type commentary to me.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it is someone for ESPN because at the start yesterday he was saying about how they were showing the first two quarter-finals. But I didn't hear a namecheck and haven't really watched since.

Sale Sharks V Scarlets (LV= Cup RU)

S4C - Sarra Elgan hosting from Edgeley Park with Rhodri Gomer-Davies with her as analyst for a very brief build up. Rhodri then joined Wyn Gruffyd to commentate. Rhodri Davies is player interviewer.

An obvious post to make now, but this game kicked off at 3pm, so it isn't live.

Cool, wasn't sure. I dipped in yesterday and everytime they came back the commentary audio always returned mid-sentence as if they were taking world feed.

Ireland V Wales (RBS Six nations RU)

(S4C) Gareth Roberts hosting pitchside from the Aviva Stadium with Gareth Edwards, Shane Williams and Derwyn Jones for build up, before they all broadcasted from a high-up studio from half time onwards. Commentary came from Huw Llewellyn Davies and Dr. Gwyn Jones, with Dot Davies pitchside with Shane Williams for the match, as well as her doing player interviews.

Strangely, instead of using their own commentary when they showed brief clips of Ireland V Wales in the recent Rugby World Cup, they used Radio Cymru

NFL Superbowl XLVI-New York Giants v New England (Sky Sports)
Presenter: Kevin Cadle with Neil Reynolds and Cecil Martin
Commentators (NBC): Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth
Reporters (NBC): Michele Tafoya and Dan Patrick

This was the first year they've let Kev out of the studio for the Super Bowl, as Sky's full presentation came from Indianapolis, rather than the usual Nick Halling and Cecil combo at the ground, Kev in the studio.

Mark Chapman presented on the BBC with Mike Carlson and St Louis' Danny Amendola, who was over here to promote the International Series in October but really didn't sound like he wanted to be here.

Michele Tafoya was the lone sideline reporter for NBC, but they wheeled out Dan Patrick for the trophy presentation and interviews. For most of the English-speaking world, international feed commentary was provided by Kenny Albert and Joe Theismann.
