I don't think Harrison and Barnes did the Aviva final last year either.

They have certainly missed it at least once before - ie 2011 or 2012 - because I remember being surprised about it.

Ben Proe was an associate producer at Sky so it may be that he's still there but just behind the scenes.

Saturday 1 June on RTE Two

Dublin v Westmeath- Michael Lyster introduces. With commentary by Marty Morrissey and Kevin McStay, and analysis by Colm O'Rourke and Eamonn O'Hara

I've not seen the Sky highlights in full, just brief pictures on SSN I very much doubt it would of been off-tube, especially as Sky had their own 'OB' live graphics etc (with a clock and so forth, I think which the World Feed would of taken).”

The world feed used ESPN's graphics and commentary.

Please would the BBC make Paul re-do his Para-Sport awareness training? Fluffing the category numbers on the 100m race Jonnie Peacock was competing in then suggesting the audience might not have heard of Jonnie before yesterday were two bloopers I heard.

Then the results graphic for the men's 200m T43/T44: Alan is Oliviera's first name, not his surname.

It probably would have been last year then as I remember them doing Saracens/Leicester in 2011.

The only reason I thought it may have been off tube was because the commentary was so good on all the major incidents. Wayne Barnes was far more audible on the sending off than he was on ESPN (Hammond referenced the line Hartley used shortly after) and they were already referencing the conversation between Myler and Barnes as it happened.

If they were commentating on it live then full credit to Hammond and Evans as it was a superb commentary

I can see the argument in favour of the BBC's scheduling decisions in this instance, although it is very easy to say that if you are a Pro12 fan based in Northern Ireland or Wales (and maybe Scotland - do Freeview viewers there have access to BBC Alba?). Being in England, I had to settle for watching the Grand Final through a low quality stream on the Scrum V website, which was a disappointment.

It's annoying that rank-and-file Pro12 games are available on the Red Button all season long yet due to other commitments, this hasn't been possible for a game on the final day of the regular season, both Semi-Finals and now the Grand Final, not to mention the only Wales Autumn International (against Samoa) that wasn't available on UK-wide BBC TV.

I wish there was some way the BBC could get round this. Obviously the ideal scenario would be that there were still two Red Button platforms on Freeview in channels 301 and 302, but failing the return of the latter, could perhaps BBC Parliament be used in situations like this? From checking the channel yesterday, they were just showing a re-run of questions from the Senedd from midweek while the Pro12 Grand Final was on - in situations like this, would it be out of the question for the BBC to suspend normal programmes for a couple of hours and use the channel as an overspill for live sport that otherwise wouldn't get a nationwide airing? I think it would be a reasonable solution.

Just seen the red card incident on Sky highlights... Definitely on-site as-live commentary... Hammond was very hesitant. As soon as the red card was out Nick Mullins had recognised it. Although I think simply Hammond heard the referee clearer than Mullins (maybe why Hammond sounded hesitant, listening to the ref). At half time on ESPN the analysis mentioned what the Ref said.

Saturday 25th May - Sky Sports Box Office

IBF & WBA Super Middleweight Championship Unification Match: Carl Froch v Mikkel Kessler

Dave Clark presented alongside David Haye, Glenn McCrory and Johnny Nelson

Commentators: Ian Darke and Jim Watt

Reporter: Adam Smith, with Richie Woodhall providing ringside analysis between rounds

I'm not sure if they used anyone else during their coverage of the undercard as I only watched the main event.

I wonder if that will be Ian Dark's last boxing commentary for Sky?

I know he had this agreement between Sky and ESPN when he joined the channel in 2010 but I very much doubt there will be the same between BT and Sky.

Ed Robinson was Sky's main reporter. Nick Halling commentated on one of the earlier undercard fights (his name popped up on the big screen in the arena), but I'd be surprised if Sky actually showed it.

I believe BBC Alba is channel 8 on freeview in Scotland.

I agree with everything in the last paragraph, they could have 302 instead of BBC Parliament when they need it like they did in the 2012 London Olympics

I've noticed a slight change in the coverage at the start of the day's play this year. Previously, they'd go for an ad break at about 10.50, then once they came back on air, David Gower would introduce the first two commentators of the day.

Now, however, Gower leads into the break and the "coming up..." graphic lists the first two commentators. Then, after the ad break, the commentators pick things up straight away and we don't hear Gower for another hour.

It's only a minor thing, but I'd be interested to know why they've decided to do it like this. It doesn't happen at the start of the afternoon or evening session, only the morning.

Maybe I've not been watching closely enough, because it happened going into the evening session today.

I can only presume that it makes it easier for them to juggle bringing in the commentators and merging them with the feeds for other channels. Before you would get lingering pauses after Gower had handed over before the commentary would pick up.

I'd have thought international viewerscould havejst joined as Sky come out of their final ad break, then Gower can just say something like "lve coverage of the morning session from Lords, hee's Ian Botham and David Lloyd."

I don't really know see why the need tolose the handover or hav gaps or anything silly like that

Was impressed with Beecroft commentating, to be honest he was a lot better than Ben Proe was. Good use of Stuart Cummings aswell, had to laugh when he confirmed Ganson made the wrong decision. Bet he was made up about that.

Eddie and Stevo are far too outdated now. The best line up that Sky RL can produce would be:

Presenter: Brian Carney
Commentator: Bill Arthur
Co-Commentators: Terry O'Connor & Barrie McDermott
Analysts: Paul Cullen, Shaun McRae, Phil Clarke
Touchline Reporter: Graham Beecroft

And keep using Stuart Cummings too. Really enjoyed his input over the weekend, even though I disliked him as a ref and as the ref's boss!
