Murray vs. Lu : David Mercer & Tim Henman
And Becker for the first part of the match until he had to go over to Centre for the Federer match when Tsonga left after injury.

It really does. She was awful (not unlike her tennis, I suppose ) and Petchey seemed to be doing both roles- she's certainly a woman of few words. "fluid shot", "good footwork" is hardly the cutting-edge analysis the viewers want, is it?

Radwanska vs. Johansson : Simon Reed & Lindsay Davenport
Dimitrov vs. Zemlja : Ron McIntosh & John Lloyd
Brands vs. Berdych : Karthi Gnanasegaram & Mark Cox

Unfortunately we have to put up with the awful Andrew Castle on Murray's match today, he's alongside John Lloyd and Pat Cash. When will the BBC and other channels who employ him, realise that Castle is as bad a commentator as he was player. Will have to watch it in silence then.

I've got the 5 Live commentary on instead now. AC is simply unlistenable. It will be awful for us all when he has the final that Murray *could* win.

I know Mark Petchy wasn't an amazing player either but he is heaps better than Castle on commentary.

The difference is Petchey is a better commentator than he was player, where as Castle is far worse a commentator than he was player, and with Castle achieving a high ranking of 80, that says something about his commentary work.

Janowicz vs. Almagro : Barry Davies & Peter Fleming ()
Robredo vs. Murray : Andrew Castle (), John Lloyd & Pat Cash

Completely agree. Petchey has a far better turn of phrase and is infinitely more knowledgeable than Castle. He also doesn't have a smug or self-important tone and lets the co-commentators, the real experts, analyse and do most of the talking. Can't understand Castle's continued status as No1. Petchey is excellent- a much better choice for the men's singles final IMO.

Unfortunately, we'll be left with the usual trio of Castle, Henman and Becker. Castle and Henman just bore me to death- awful commentators.
McEnroe is doing Wimbledon primarily for ESPN in America so the BBC get to use him on the matches ESPN don't need him for. He'll probably be doing the women's final with Petchey and Davenport.

McEnroe will always do the mens final for US TV which used to be NBC and now is ESPN, he also works for CBS when he covers the US Open.

So sadly i feel for a few years we will be stuck with the 'dream' team of Castle, Henman and Becker for the mens final at SW19.

Becker i can live with, but as for the other 2, well i concur with others sentiments on here.

It seems to be an obsession over here than any ex player can make the commentary box or as a summariser, whether it is cricket, golf, football, rugby etc, never mind whether they are any good or not. Sky are guilty of this as well.

If wonder if Dean Ryan would have been out in Australia had he not joined Worcester. From a personal of view I think the Sky coverage misses that technical element he would have brought

I wasn't keen on them at first but Stolle made some good points and Adler was ok- not as bad as that Karthi woman as a lead commentator.

Does anyone know why David Harmon isn't commentating on the Tour de France for Eurosport? It's Carlton Kirby (who's usually involved in some capacity anyway) with Sean Kelly this year.

Don't get me wrong i am not doubting their ability just wondering why the BBC used them when they have a veritable abundance of commentators
