Does anyone else think that Gwynne shouts into the mic?
I know he is tremendously knowledgeable, but i find that a bit grating, mind you if he does shout into the mic, he isn't the only one in all sports!

I wouldn't mind hearing Manley in the box on the odd occasion. Is he still with the PDPA?

A long shift for them last night, they commentated on about 3 games all in one 'sitting'. I've watched a fair bit of the Water Polo, and still don't know what constitutes a foul .

FINA World Swimming Championships, Barcelona

James Parrack and Drew Gordon commentating, with Karri Anne Saude and Pieter van den Hoogenband doing the swimside (is that a term?) interviews.

He was exactly the same when he covered Lancashire Cricket locally. He would boom his report into the news bulletins.

Sunday 28th July - Sky Sports 1

PDC World Matchday Final 2013: Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis

Dave Clark presented from the Winter Gardens, Blackpool alongside Wayne Mardle and Rod Harrington

Commentators: Rod Studd and John Part (legs 1 to 15); John Gwynne and Wayne Mardle (leg 16 to the end)

Post-final interviews on the stage were conducted by, as mentioned, Rod Studd. I presume Dave Clark no longer does these because of his Parkinson's, although it's uplifting to see him continuing to be Sky's able anchor in spite of his illness. John Gwynne was part of the presentation party, along with the former talkSPORT horse racing commentator Charlie McCann (who is now the spokesperson for tournament title sponsor BetVictor).

Nice to hear John Gwynne getting the anchor leg of the final of his last tournament as a full-time Sky Sports darts commentator, particularly with it being in his native North-West. I enjoyed his commentary the other night and what I've heard of him over the past 20 years and I will miss his presence at the big darts tournaments, particularly the World Championships. Happy retirement John, all the best.

I think you are writing off Dave Clark a little too soon there fella. He doesn't always do the interviews as he is up in the studio. Rod Studd did a fair few in the week. Don't assume it is because of Dave's illness. Hopefully it won't stop him doing his job

I'm not writing him off at all - I've always liked Dave and hope he continues on the darts for many years to come.

However, I'm think I'm right in saying that as of the late 2000s, he would almost always conduct the interviews with the champion and runner-up on the stage after the finals of big tournaments. Rod Studd has been used in this capacity on the Sky Sports darts tournament finals I have seen over the past year or so, which would perhaps indicate that they have passed this role onto him for whatever reason. Maybe this is not to do with Dave's illness but more that they feel that Rod is a solid interviewer and can do just as good a job. Or maybe, in this instance at least as the final finished about 10 minutes before the hour, they knew they'd have some time to fill to take them up to the off-air point after the trophy presentation and wanted to have their full studio team in situ.

I am sorry if I have indeed made an incorrect judgement about Dave's illness, like you I wouldn't want to see it stopping him from doing his job. But this is one of the smaller aspects of his role, so it's not a major change in the grand scheme of things.

Dunno if it has been mentioned or i've missed it, but I thought Nick Mullins wasn't part of the new BT set up?

http://sport.bt.com/watchnow/ourteam...11374088133267
However he is pictured on the BT Sport site as the 'voice of BT Sports rugby'. Alastair Eykyn is listed as 'BT Sport rugby & tennis commentator'. I thought/got the impression it was Eykyn as sole #1, clearly not. Mullins #1 & Eykyn #2.

Alan Bernard finally turned up on the International version (he's on Eurosport France a lot this week) today.

I did like it when James got himself into a muddle when questioning as to why some of the 200m breaststroke heats were too close, preferring it if you would see a clear winner.

Was at Kingsholm tonight so haven't seen any of the coverage, how was it?

It appeared from the sidelines pre-match that for the likes of Elgan, Healey and Kay it would be a pretty seamless transition from ESPN

BT not 'hiding' that their Ladies Tennis coverage commentary was offtube. Anne Keothavong was in the studio and went into the commentary box. Lynsey Hipgrave acknowledging Anne had just 'came out from the commentary box'
