Who else commentated by the way? I know Nick Knight was there, saw him talking to one of the umpires on the main Sky coverage
Rob Key and Clare Connor.

Rob Key and Clare Connor.
Also I was watching the highlights of the ECB produced coverage of the 1st womens ODI and there were a couple of make voices I has never heard before; does anyone know who they were? I definitely heard Alison Mitchell, Mark Butcher and Isa Guha but there were at least two others.

Phil Blacker was one, occasional Sky/PLP football commentator but I didn't catch the other one.

Ex-golfer and Sky commentator Bernard Gallagher is critically ill after a heart attack. Get well soon, Bernard.

I hope Greg blewett doesn't commentate in the odi, didn't really like his voice, I prefer having Tom Moody.

anyone have similar opinions.

Personally I don't mind Greg Blewett so am fairly comfortable with Sky using him or Moody.

Much rather listen to them and have a break from Shane Warne who I thought went rapidly downhill from the end of Old Trafford onwards.

Presumably off tube as Matt Chilton was commentating on Dan Evans' match against Tomic at the US Open

Shane Warne was trying to be so controversial, he really had so many irritating views, be interesting to see if Shane Warne works for Star sports during the india odi series, he has 20 days to do this year, he can do 8 or 9 during that series, and another 11 or 12 during T20 in march.

if he misses that series, then he would either have to commentate on most of the T20 world Cup.

And I don't think there will be many more of those tournaments left for the great guy......sadly I think his days of calling it a day for commentating full stop is not to far away.

I think he sounds well past it now on Wimbledon to be honest does Davies. His voice sounds shot to pieces. Although if he / Beeb were taking a decision I'm surprised he didn't do the Commonwealth games hockey in Glasgow.

Barry Davies is the greatest commentator of my lifetime. I think the guy is wonderful and so versatile. You can understand why other commentators respect him so much. I hope the hockey decision doesn't mean we will only be hearing the great man once a year.

Was Davies the commentator on the recent BBC coverage of the ladies hockey?

Right OK. So stepping down from a sport he is only going to commentate on once in a blue moon is a bit odd. Unless I have missed something.
