There have been plenty of favourite dancers / couples posts and I hope everyone will agree this isnt one of them.

As far I can see I dont think this is on another thread live or otherwise

The debate will continue about dancing comp v Saturday night entertainment and I am curious to see if the same numbers of people ( who listed their all time great dancers) have a favourite celeb (who was never going to win) who entertained but was not the strongest dancer

Just in case you have read this far Bob and the rest was yesterdays cause celeb and I (reluctantly) accept no one cares enough to find them and as I dont want to be lost from DS the search party has been disbanded

Now which celeb (who wasnt there for their dance ability) throughout all the series entertained you the most

My favourite celeb who wasn't there for their dancing prowess is Joe Calzaghe

Me too. Jodie Kidd is up there as one of my favourites along with the chap who was The Minder's son-in-law. Lol, how shameful to forget his name.

I also confess to loving JS, but not sure he counts as we will never know whether he could have won (imo, no way).

Definitely Gavin for me. He was so funny, and it was sweet to see him come out of his shell.

Ricky Groves! I couldn't remember his name either!

Jodie was great!

Kenny Logan was another favourite of mine - lovely guy!

Another one - Penny Lancaster!

I loved John Sergeant and I think his Paso when he dragged Kristina across the floor was SCD Gold.

Also, for sheer elegance Cherie Lunghi and Stephanie Beachman. They were both very Hollywood and went too soon IMO.

Cherie Lunghi --

started off roaring, winning the first two rounds (foxtrot 33, rumba 35), until James ran out of ideas and his teenager latin routines including playing air guitar on Cherie's thigh did our glamour girl in.

At age 56 Cherie remained a pulse-quickening woman, no doubt so to remain for decades to come...

Gavin and his ickle face, he was completely hilarious!

Also liked Kenny Logan, Letitia Dean and Don Warrington. Spoony was good too and went out too early, but he could actually dance, just didn't connect with the public.

Letitia Dean was lovely!

And Aled and Bill!

And mine! I got all nostalgic about it last weekend when the pros used the same piece of music.

I'd also have liked to have seen more of Stephanie Beacham, if only for her dry wit.

And John & Kristina's Samba remains one of the 'cutest' dances I've seen on Strictly!

Julian Clarey. He was so funny and never came across as "begging" for votes but, always reminded the public that we needed to vote to keep him in.

Gavin Henson - loved some of his one liners to Katya in training (headache in heels was a fave!), Letitia Dean & Kenny Logan and Robbie Savage - Let Me Entertain You was a brilliant Wembley opener!

I quite liked Julian Clary too. I also liked Dennis Taylor as he seemed to approach it all with good humour.

Of the better (but not best) dancers, I liked Aled the most.

Gavin, much to my surprise as I thought I would dislike him. He had a great partnership with Katya, and was unintentionally funny too - so many moments made me laugh, like Katya fanning herself saying "wow, it's HOT" (meaning sexy) and Gavin in all seriousness going to check the thermostat. That made me howl!

(There was a thread last year on Gavin-isms, but I can't find it now....)

Also agree with a previous poster that Cherie went out too soon - James did not adapt his choregraphy to her abilities, which were skewed to the slower, more graceful dances (her rumba is one of the best ever by a celebrity, IMO.)

Also liked Kenny Logan, John Sargeant, and this year I feel Rory left too early, as his quick step the previous week was good.
