Nice little festive song. He performed this song on on Lorraine, Loose Women and Andrew Marr.

I don't understand why Hucknall wrapped up Simply Red when it was basically a solo project anyway and it's a brand name that's sold a lot of records.

mick said he wanted to explore other genres of music and couldn't do that with the simply red brand name.
Which has a certain pop/soul sound I do think it's a really stupid idea to be honest as he won't get as much support.
I'd really love it if the original line-up of simply red with
fritnz mcintyre got back together at some point.
I do like the xmas single though.

Let's be honest, he's made enough money to be able to do whatever he wants now. It's not like he needs something to sell like 'stars' did, is it?

PS You can call me an old fogey if you like but Fairground is a monstrously good song!

Maybe he fancies himself as the new Bono. Part of his post-Simply Red reinvention perhaps?

Nope, in Mick's case I think it may be because he has the human equivalent of an Asda Bag For Life under each eye...
