One more year of 'no change'. Bruce's 70th anniversary, Strictly's 10th an all that ...

Then the following year: Tess on her own (she's does it all on her own anyway). Len to the American show, Ian Waite replacing him.

The least change the better ...

When Bruce was on the Chris Evans Breakfast show a few weeks back, he said the gig he'd wished he'd had/would still like to do, was to have a chat show. I hope the powers that be were listening and could use this carrot to tempt him away from SCD without him losing too much face.

They could even do a straight swap and put Graham Norton on SCD and Brucie on Friday nights!

Alesha - needs to go- her favouritism and overmarking makes her without any credibility. Karen Hardy please

Bruno - Can stay providing he is tied to a chair and given a shot of valium every week

Revert to the original format of each couple doing on of two dances per week- week three is too soon to have them doing different dances

Keep the AT and Charleston for the semi finals

Give Bruce & Tess a big thankyou and say have a rest now- bring in Chris Hollins as host and Claudia as his sidekick. But tell Claudia - no toffee wrapper outfits”

^^ This, except I would dump Bruno in the Thames and replace him by having a guest judge each week who has been a contestant or pro on the show. Bravo, footygirl!!

Health permitting, I suspect Bruce will be back for at least one more season.

If not, I suspect Anton will be the favourite to replace him - He does appear to have been groomed.

There is more to being a presenter than looking cute and reading an autocue

I doubt very much that Anton could handle a live audience. He was bad enough on the cookery show when he came across as wooden and formulaic.

That is the worst kind of presenter as you will lose viewers rather than gain them

Give it to someone who has experience- Chris Hollins would be my choice

Yep they're going to replace one of the biggest names in Television with the substitute host of Cash In the Attic The man who failed an audition to present the easiest show on TV- The One Show.

You literally haven't a clue about what mainstream audiences want.

What experience does Hollins have with a live audience? At least Anton's presented HITW and Judged Lets dance for Comic Relief, Hollins' only primetime job was as Anne Robinson's sidekick on Watchdog and his audition week on The one show were awful and he has never been asked to guest present ever again!

Agree with all these points - especially about the dances themselves. I'm not a dancer; there's no way I can compare a rumba to a foxtrot and say which one was best performed.

As for presenters...I'd rather have no presenter than Forsyth. Subtitles and a voiceover would be preferable; I can't stand the man. I've never watched an episode of Strictly live because of him.

Wow. I've just realised how much I like Brucie - somebody suggesting Chris Hollins as a replacement! Oh my goodness. Bland on bland. Cheeky chappie, Ola Chops, oh no. And over on the 'other boards' they are suggesting pairing him with Natalie Cassidy. I think Simon Cowell may be posting...

Can't see that happening with Strictly, it really doesn't need a big name to "guide its momentum" the present presenters have just rode along with it as it's grown, yes they are big names and I like Bruce, but I can't help thinking "Get on with it Bruce/Tess, let's see the next couple."
Anton knows dance, has a good sense of humour, the audience likes him. He'd be all the BBC needed (with Tess) if the job became vacant.

Why not Tess and Claudia - they seem to do a pretty fair job on a sunday....I quite like Anton but not as a presenter.

Unfortunately thast is not enough. What happens if something goes wrong with the autocue I don't think Anton has got the skill to improvise. He was very wooden on a pre recorded show so I doubt he could carry a live show
Knowing dance is not enough. He needs to get in some practice with radio presenting where you really do have to think on your feet and not coast along with an autocue

Agreed - there should be a couple of vacancies on X Factor next season - she may want to do that - (hopes that she will defect)

I also think Bruce will stay for the 10th series, but after that I think both Bruce and Tess will be replace. I no longer have any idea who the producers will bring in. Probably someone totally unexpected and not previously associated with the show - and who has never even watched it.

Let me settle this argument! Neither Hollins nor Anton has anything like the power and charisma and experience to anchor the BBC's flagship show.

With apologies to anyone who's seen this before because I did post it on another thread, and with tongue firmly in cheek:

I think we should embrace the idea of improving international relations through the spirit of dance by engaging in a cultural exchange with the US version, DWTS
1) I think the Americans would love Bruce - a real-life Knight of the Realm. Proper Olde England.. The sun will do him good - he had a lovely time making that TV programme about Las Vegas. We'll have their Tom Bergeron in return please, who can both read the auto-cue and be spontaneously witty.
2) Ditto Anton - the Americans would be charmed by his very-Englishness, uber-smart appearance and Fred Astaire moves. Unfortunately that would leave Anton unavailable to fill Bruce's shiny shoes but I don't suppose he'd mind - he'd be living the Californian lifestyle, after all!
3) Oh...but...that would leave us with a pro-space to fill. That'll be Tristan MacManus then

They should make you Director General! But may I suggest that they take Aleesha with them as cockney cheeky chappie as they seem to like Len. They won't want Tess because they already have Cat Deeley (and the definitely won't want her husband) but we could throw in a truck load of unwanted props as well.

Artem and Pasha aside, I'd sacrifice every pro on Strictly to get Tristan McManus on our show. To think that some f***wit at the Beeb decided he was not right for the show after he auditioned

Imagine a pro dance with Chiggy, Pash and Tris..

Hilarious that someone has suggested Chris Hollins as the host of the BBC's flagship LE show

If some of the people here were put in charge of Strictly ratings would collapse.
