Are now devalued. I could see no difference between the 9's for Harry's dances and the 10's for Chelsee and Jason. Why 9's for some, and 10's for others ?

Actually the voting went to pot the minute they overmarked Harry's Charleston - it was good but not that good. From that point on they left themselves with nowhere to go.

Bruno and Aleshas marks lacked all perspective

Chelsee's paso and Jason's tango were better than Harry's performance. Harry danced first and Craig gave him a 9. What score would you suggest he should give to a dance that is better than that of someone to whom he has already given a 9?

Harry definitely deserved a 10 from Craig tonight and judging by Len's reaction to Craig's 9, he agreed.

They were devalued way back in series 6 when Lisa Snowdon took to the dancefloor.

To be honest, I just expect that around this time in the competition each year Craig will completely lose his mind.

i don't think anyone deserved a perfect score tonight.

Well I thought both were deserved to be honest. Well done to Chelsee and Jason

Agree imo Chelsee's AS was undermarked and if any dance was overmarked tonight it was Harry's Charleston.

I totally agree, he also has one contestant every year that he seems to have a blindspot for. Lisa Snowdon and Pamela Stephenson come immediately to mind, you will never convince me that either of them deserved their 10s and yes, I'm never getting over it!

And for me, this year it's Jason. Craig's been dying to get the 10 out since Jason's jive but Jason kept making timing/footwork errors that were too obvious to be ignored but he was going to give him a 10 the minute he could. Just my opinion, of course.

Agree. None of the routines were perfect.

Exactly. I got the most irate when it came to Lisa, was pretty pissed off last year with Pamela (mostly because I thought it might cost Kara a place in the semi-final), this year I'm like "oh well, everyone has a flaw and this is Craig's".

Is there such a thing as a perfect routine?

hmm I'm not even a harry fan but I thought both his dances were brilliant

Harry and Aliona gave me goosebumps tonight, one of the most beautiful dances I have ever seen on Strictly, seemingly faultless and pure VW from beginning to end (well done Aliona) it had everything (and more importantly no cheesy fake ballroom dancer grin, Harry best gift to this competition )
yes imo it was a 40 dance sadly Craig disagreed Cest La vie

They were still very rightly at the top of the leader board so I'm not too annoyed about Craig and his nit picking.

Agreed, I can't believe some of the judges gave Alex the same mark as for her insipid waltz as Chelsee for her beautiful American Smooth. It doesn't make sense, they were poles apart!

This isn't life or death dear, it's a bit of harmless entertainment.

Very glad Chelsee got a 40, but not sure about Jason, he did a LOT of standing in that routine. As for Harry, I'm not even a fan but was heartily annoyed he wasn't awarded a ten from Craig. That VW was sublime.

Never stopped Alesha....

the problem with scoring is that is almost impossible to measure technical, lyrical and emotional sides of a dance.
I was very disapointed with Chealsee's paso, in my book no way a 40 (plenty of wobbly bits, and slightly mechanical for my tastes which is weird from her).

Jason's on the other hand performed it perfectly for the choreo and his standard. I still think that Harry's was much better and with a more challenging choreo too, but I understand the 40. It wasnt that far off perfection of what the choreo and his ability would allow.
harry's VW was in the other hand beautiful and was the only dance that make really say wow. And the thing is I prefer AT and Paso anytime over a VW.

Agreed that was when the judges pushed themselves into a corner
Alex a nice routine an honest effort but never more than an 8

I have stayed off the Alesha case for many weeks but tonight she looked eye candy but never a judge to be trusted when the dancers perform at the semi level

I think it's a matter of taste really. Personally I don't think on a technical level any celebrities deserve a perfect score. But it's that extra injection of emotion into the dance that could get the perfect score. And that's something that is subjective and down to interpretation.

I could see why Craig didn't give Harry's VW a 10. But I could find as many technical problems with Chelsee's Paso and Jason's AT. However if those 2 dances were the ones that moved him or got his blood pumping then I don't see why those 2 shouldn't be the ones that got his 10s.

On an emotional level I would have given Harry and Jason a 10 tonight. The music for both dances was fantastic, and the performance matched it. The only reason Chelsee's dance didn't have the same effect was because all through it I was nervous for her that she'd make a mistake again like in AS.

My problem with the marks is that Chelsee and Jason both had shaky moments in their dances which were overlooked. Harry, Holly and Alex were pulled up for theirs.

Jason performed a brilliant AT but technique wise he is nowhere near approaching Harry/Chelsee or even Holly's standard... Craig giving him a 10 and not Harry was crazy.

For me the problem was the judges giving themselves nowhere to go. Alesha for example had already dished out several 10s, and when it came to Chelsee's paso she clearly wanted to give it a better score than she'd given the other dances..........then along comes Jason and she's on her feeet joining in the standing ovation! If she'd had an 11 and 12 paddle I think she'd have whipped them out.

As some have said, none of the dances were perfect, but as soon as they'd given Harry 39 for the first dance,(and before the Harry fans jump down my throat I thought it was good but just not a 10, and in fact not as good as his VW which scored the same, but was better imo) they had painted themselves into a corner.

Personally I think that both Celsee's paso and Jason's AT were something special, and deserved to be distinguished in some way from the rest of the very good dances last night.

Let's face it, it was Kristina that got the '10' not Jason.

Her choreography and execution of the dance was brilliant. Jason was there to make up the numbers.

Kristina has saved him.
