Any game involving Platinum Studio is a big plus. Love these developers. Its going to be a lot like Vanquish based on the trailer.

This looks Bloody Awful! it does not deserve to associated with Metal Gear solid i know its a spin off but still Awful imo.
Well i guess it changing developers means Kojima is focusing on either another game or MGS 5

This is apparently now set AFTER MGS4, which puzzled me at first, then I looked at the subtitle 'Revengance' which cleared a few things up

Its still has the 'solid' in the title
so they should of remoced solid and just have Rising. Anyway i m not fussed as i doubt i will be getting this on day of release, just looks so crap i hate the style it has and i always hated Raiden ![]() I'll wait for MGS 5 a Proper Metal Gear

Think it looks like utter pish. Platinum games are at times a slightly overrated studio, and the rest of the world will probably find this out when they play this game.

This was probably the bursting out trailer, Kojima productions are still very much in charge of the story, and I doubt Hideo himself would let a game that totally ruins the series canon to come out.

I was looking forward to this, but it's dropped anything that made me interested in MGS, now that it's been confirmed to be taking place AFTER MGS4, I dunno, sort of degrades the ending of MGS4.

Wow this is the best thing they could of done. MGS needs a firm kick up the arse and Platinum Games are just the studio to do it. It looks gorgeous and it's confirmed at being 60fps so it's going to be smooth and very responsive.
Not sure why some people are getting their panties in a twist as it was always quite clear to be a spin-off from the series anyway. |

Not looking forward to this now. I was excited to see how Raiden became a ninja in the first place. Off to cancel my preorder.

Having said that, title is still in early days of development and I agree with you that the idea is a promising one. But if the combat is still like that by the end of development I'll be giving it a miss and sticking to GOW. |

MGS: Rising was apparently cancelled before Platinum were asked to come and make this one, Hideo also said he removed Solid from the title because he sees this as Raiden's series, and he doesnt want it to have to adehere to Solid's rules

Tbh i think the trailer relied too much on the fast paced music and the slick cut scenes. Whether this MG will have a decent story remains to be seen this will the the 1st MG game i will look at spoilers to see if its worth picking up.

God Of War mastered that because you could go from combo to combo to combo and Kratos would adapt his stance and attacks accordingly, so it looked like one epicly flowing move. In the vast majority of hack n' slash games your character focuses in on one enemy at a time - that was the uniqueness of God Of War, because Kratos could attack as many enemies at a time as he wanted thanks to the design of the blades. Conversely, based on that clip, Raiden looks juttery because he has to transition between enemies, rather than letting the blade be freely controlled. Bayonetta did not have that problem, granted, but I wasn't impressed by it, more personal taste than anything else as I hate the vast majority of Japanese game design. The combat was OK but far from a God Of War beater in my book. |
