A few years ago she released her Loose album and I loved it, it was so awesome to me, full of eclectic sounds, I know she attempted a Spanish album that didnt go down very well, but is she working on an English follow-up? If so I hope it comes out soon because Loose came out in 2006!

It seemed so recent that Loose came out! I can't believe it was already 5 years ago!

It was such a good album, and she was one of the biggest female pop stars in the world at the time.

A little part of me hates the album though, since it helped popularize electropop, which has spun out of control now.

I believe she may be releasing another Spanish album, which is a shame really because the last one sucked.

I was just giving her second album Folklore a listen, beautiful album! I wasn't so keen on Loose but I did like Afraid & Say It Right.

Well, she took a long break after 'Give It To Me' became a smash, but in the meantime she did a few collaborations too.She worked with James Morisson ('Broken Strings'), N.E.R.D. ('Hot N' Fun'), Tiesto and rapper Game on his new album.Besides, she released a Greatest Hits album one year ago, which only did moderately well in Europe and its lead single was an utter flop

Now she's still working on her 4th english album, which is reportedly going to include NO spanish lyrics. It's due out in Summer 2012, but nothing is official yet. She's allegedly working with Salaam Remi, Ryan Tedder, The Neptunes, Tiesto, Darkchild (who is a very popular urban producer) and of course Timbaland. At the same time, she's recording a full-length portuguese album

I hope her comeback is great.I'll be checking for her

She's not releasing a Spanish album. Not in the UK anyway.

She is however DEFINITELY working on a 2012 album (English) for the UK/US etc. It was meant to be released the end of 2010 but there was a slight (or a big) hiccup with production and that prompted the quick release of the "Best of Nelly Furtado" instead.

2012 Nelly will return

It was an album that showed she had sold out on her musical style to try and get some sales. It worked for the short term but she's gone now, she wont do anything much with the next album when it comes out.

She's taking SO long to release Lifestyle.

But I guess I am pretty glad, because if Night is Young was the best she'd came up with during 2 years of writing, I guess she probably needs the extra time.

I know what you mean. LIke she suddenly started singing on dance and hip hop beats. But musically, I thought it was fantastic. Exactly my type of thing personally. From before then, I only knew her from Timbaland's album, and I'm Like a Bird (which was all over the radio for years), so the change in music didn't seem like a shock to me, although I can understand her original fanbase would've been disappointed.

What do you mean her Spanish album didn't go down well? It went double platinum in the US, reached number one on the Billboard Latin Album chart and garnered her a Latin Grammy for Album of the Year. And that's just in the US, alone.

I actually think Loose showed her musical versatility, and showed that she isn't a one trick pony. And even when she was creating more of her singer-songwriter type of music, she was collaborating with hip-hop artists for their albums back then (i.e. MIssy Elliott, The Roots, Ms. Jade). Calling her a sell-out is just another way of saying you weren't much of a fan. And she released a successful Spanish album after Loose. I think she'll go ham with her forthcoming English album.

She's awesome. I can't wait for her new English album. I loved every one of her albums, she hasn't let me down. She isn't collaborating with Timbaland again, which I think is good because he tends to take the credit away from the artists he produces for. Plus his beats aren't that great these days and he beings a barrage of lame co-producers and songwriters. I think she made the right choice with Salaam Remi but I really do hope she isn't working with Darkchild, however. -_-

You are not a fan then there were elements of hip-hop and rap on earlier albums and songs example Shit on the radio she just expanded and created a great album from those elements and if anything Loose had just as many world influences and Latin influences and showed her versatility even more people like you annoy me as soon as an artists goes into a more mainstream sound they have sold out do you usually put people into boxes

Within Europe, Mi Plan reached gold in Germany, Poland and Switzerland, and reached the top ten in Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy and Spain. However, probably because it wasn't in English, it didn't do well in the UK. I don't even think there was any promotion.

I completely agree.

I've been looking forward to both her English- and Portuguese-language albums for a while.
