They're definitely not the eye candy this year.
I think if you remove all the media intervention and the shows VT's and hype LM would have gone a long time ago.
If it was a pure singing competition it would have been Misha, Marcus and Kitty in the final.
Then again, this is just a hypothetical, the media manipulation is what wins and loses the competition. LM are always shown in a good light, occasionally the victim, Misha, Kitty & Frankie were all demonised and Janet was sacrificed for a more markettable alternative (Amelia) once they realised she always struggled to sing live and didn't seem to want to be there anymore.

I'd forgotten about that. That was embarrassingly staged and inappropriate.
I think the LM sob story did help people get to know them and a group needs more specific tactics than the soloists to do this for obvious reasons.
Jesy's weight only became a problem when she read or received all of the utterly unnecessary nasty and spiteful comments on Twitter, Facebook and internet forums! Not surprised the girl became upset. She is not fat and should not be pressurised into becoming a skinny size 0 just to appease the wonderful -looking and slender (but hidden) keyboard warriors!

What a major load of rubbish. Can't fans of other acts just get over the fact that they are one of the best acts this year... they can all sing, they all work really well together and you are going to look silly when they win tomorrow. On the topic of sob stories there have been way more sob stories from every other contestant including Marcus, Misha, Amelia, Janet etc.etc.etc.
Based on the largely female demographic of their votes. I'd say yes. You didn't see Amelia crying at being called a skank and old looking. She just got on with it.

Once the weight sob story kicked in I started to go off them as I didn't think they needed to go for sympathy. Jesy was the one who physically stood out for me as her face is so striking. I don't look at girls' figures but imagine lads would prefer her to the rest who are stick thin.
I was out last night and haven't watched the show yet but assume they were dancing as I haven't seen any evidence that they can dance yet. They can all sing in tune, they are not all good enough to be soloists but that isn't a problem as long as Perrie takes the bulk of the lead vocals.
Versatile? Not for me.
Likeable? Yes.
Humble and taking on board criticism? Not sure. They seem to have faces like a slapped arse when any of the judges have dared to criticise.
But yes to the genuine friendship and growth on the show. For me, they have not grown enough and their friendship doesn't really translate into the rather static performances. Taken away and worked on for six months, they could be quite good but I don't see any star quality at all and "quite good" isn't enough for me.
I voted for Little Mix and never even heard of 'The Weight Story'......I just watch the show and base my thoughts on that .....
I am disgusted that there is a thread about someone's weight. It SHOULD NOT be discussed and is borderline bullying.

Look at the ,massive survey carried out. Females are massive fans of LM, males, not so much. Surely it would be the opposite if they were popular just because their hot.
