Depends how many each way bets he has on him e.g. on Eurovision people put each way bets on safe top 4 results but they may not necessarily win.
It depends how you play it I guess, some people will bet at the start hoping to get good odds on an outsider who turns out to be a good dancer; I prefer to wait til mid-series and get a feel for the celebs abilities and their public vote. |

I think you may be missing a vital ingredient - the McFly voters!

Yeah but this is a different situation because in Eurovision there are a large number of entries competing with each other at once and a single voting stage; strictly is a knock-out repeat voting competition. It doesn't make sense to bet on more than one celeb at this point, and changes to the odds over the next few days relfect where the money is being staked now. You could bet against I guess, but there's not much money to be won in a lay bet considering how much you have to stake.

thats worring me as well
![]() Based on this I think many on here are overestimating the McFly vote factor. If Harry wins I believe it will be because he has picked up plenty of additional votes during the series. All to play for. |

considering she has never been anywhere lower than second on the leader board, (please correct me if I am wrong) I dont think we can really know if she is "pulling in the votes". I would edge my bets and say Harry might possibly be ahead of her in the voting, just based on the evidence of him being 4th on the leader board and still making it through to the semi finals without being in the bottom 2.
Week 3 : 5th= (of 13) Week 4: 1st (of 12) Week 5: 4th (of 11) Week 6: 1st (of 10) Week 7: 2nd (of 9) Week 8: 1st= (of 8) Week 9: 2nd (of 7) Week 10: 1st (of 6) Week 11: 2nd (of 5) By contrast, Harry : Week 2: 5th (of 14) Week 3: 2nd (of 13) Week 4: 2nd (of 12) Week 5: 3rd (of 11) Week 6: 3rd (of 10) Week 7: 1st (of 9) Week 8: 3rd= (of 8) Week 9: 1st (of 7) Week 10: 4th (of 6) Week 11 1st (of 5) and Jason : Week 2: 1st (of 14) Week 3 : 1st (of 13) Week 4: 5th= (of 12) Week 5: 1st (of 11) Week 6: 7th (of 10) Week 7: 3rd (of 9) Week 8: 3rd= (of 8) Week 9: 3rd (of 7) Week 10 3rd (of 6) (*bottom 2*) Week 11 : 3rd (of 5) Bolded are the weeks when the contestant was in the lower half of the leaderboard, score-wise. |

Since when is intelligence shallow? We're often told that judging someone by their looks is shallow. If considering their intelligence is supposed to be shallow too, I wonder what isn't.
What wouldn't be a shallow way to judge someone, in your view? ![]() What I said (and I quote directly from my post) is this: Quote:
Your reasons for high dislike appear to be based on nothing more than what you perceive to be a lack of intellect. I actually consider that judging a person almost solely on the strength of their vocabulary to be rather shallow.
Quite how you've managed to interpret this to mean I find intelligence shallow defeats me - but just to clarify I will elucidate.I consider basing dislike of a person on their ability or otherwise to understand the meaning of 'virtually challenged' to be shallow. As for your question "What wouldn't be shallow?" Well I have friends from all walks of life, many of whom I've met through a variety of charitable organisations. Some are highly intelligent, hold down extremely responsible positions and mix in what one might consider privileged social circles. Do I consider them shallow? Not at all. Far from disapproving of those with limited intellect, education and/or vocabulary they use their positions of influence to help and support the less fortunate. Do they judge others on appearance? Again no, quite the contrary. There are many whose contributions to a more eqitable society are manifest in their efforts to right the wrongs of nature and life. e.g. physical deformities from birth, as a result of accident or servicemen returning from war zones. These comments might seem heavy for an SCD thread - but you asked the question - I am simply giving you an answer. Quote:
The post didn't say the academically able should feel superior.
Do you really think that when one person labels another stupid and vapid, the former is not adopting an attitude of superiority over the latter?
