absolutely gobsmacked about this news - I think most of us had pretty much given up hope of ever seing another episode found again of course there will inevitably be some fans moaning about the two episodes recovered but personally I couldn't care less I'm just delighted we can now knock another 2 episodes off the missing total.

Anything is an improvement over The Web Planet and The Dominators.

And all those Episode guides can be updated for new editions.

Re the OP!

This is really encouraging news, still hope the others!

I hope the Web of Fear turns up!

It's like that guy from the Fast Show!

...and then, I found all the missing episodes of doctor who in my loft...which was nice!

The core restoration team are not exactly the cheeriest bunch tbh, except Mark Ayres who seems very nice!

Finding an episode of Galaxy 4 is quite a wonderful surprise. I too am curious about this tale.

And anything with PT in is a winner in my eyes.

All in all, I am delighted with this news.

A report in today's Guardian that two missing episodes from 1965 and 1967 starring Hartnell and Troughton has been found. Apparently they originated from Aussie TV and were picked up at a village fete !

What an early Christmas present this is!

Love the tale on the website on how they have been acquired!
Quotes from the article:

‘Oh, actually I think I’ve got an old episode.’

and

Ralph met Terry again a couple of weeks later, “And he said, ‘Guess what I’ve got".

Magic

For the record, that's a Rill communicating through a Chumbly, so make sure you don't blame the Chumbly for the Rill's attitude.

I used to know Paul.

He is exactly like he comes over in the interview.

Hardly a barrel of laughs but he does keep a good wine cellar.

I'm not exactly thrilled by the two episodes mentioned - even though I am a fan of both Doctors.
I am more excited by the fact that there is HOPE of more being found out there somewhere!!
I think the completion of 'The Tenth Planet' will create an uproar!! *If anyone has that last episode - give it in now to the BBC......you'll make a fortune!!!!!

If I could have my wish list of the Doctor Who episodes I want to return they would be

Galaxy 4
The Daleks Master Plan
The Evil of the Daleks
The Power of the Daleks
The Tenth Planet
The two Yeti Storys (Cannot remember the name)

Alas I don't think I will :'(

Just praying that some person comes across an old film collection with many of the missing episodes!! Maybe we could hire Indiana Jones

I don't think 106 are ALL out there but I do remain optimistic that the good storys are hidden away.

Knowing our luck probably the only serial left out is the Smugglers () But I would not care cause I love Doctor Who.

You don't say

But this was very nice to see yesterday. Hopefully there are plenty more out there to be found!

Haven't had chance to comment on this yet but I agree with all the above. Though I hope all episodes one day will get returned to the BBC, I would have hoped for two different episodes to be found including The Tenth Planet and most of Troughton's stuff from Season 5.

But hey, two episodes found is better than them being lost forever so we should be grateful for that.

I found several Lost episodes recently. I did the decent thing and burned them. Sorry, but season 6 was an insult.
