Some people will see bad in everything.

I see Bruces behaviour towards Chelsee as being like a grand father and grand daughter. He seems to be genuinely affectionate towards her in a differant way to nearly all the celebs I can remember...

Can't help but agree with you. Sir Brucie has the ability to encourage the dancers and also quip with the judges. He's marvellous for the show.

Yeah... that was a surprise for me too.

Luckily Chelsee isn't bright enough to notice Bruce and Tess using a slightly patronising tone when speaking to her.

Old.

That is all.”

Yeah, he should be old enough to know better than to be well...... old!!

It's the oldest trick in the book though - being old!

Shouldn't be allowed.

SCD is an excellent show - I really like it. However, the weakest parts of the show by far are:

1) Bruce
2) Tess
3) The BBC's continual reinforcement of how important this show is.

Almost any other host / hostess combination would be better. And I don't need the BBC to keep telling my how significant Wembley is and how much people love the show.

Get new hosts and stop the self promotion and I'd like it even better. As it is, these three factors annoy me to no end.

Like I said, excellent show, let down in 3 major ways.

Yes, he gets positively orgasmic at times. "Ooh, Ah, Ooh,
Come here, Look at 'em, Ooh, Ah, They're on the feet, Ooh, Ah" ...... ad nauseum. It's time to put him out to grass!

There is no point in calling for change without suggesting alternatives. All the suggestions that I have seen so far have been awful. I like Bruce Forsyth and cannot think of anyone who could do it better and certainly no young ones.

Bruce's ad-libs can sometimes be rather snide especially when he addresses Craig but Craig never retaliates. I really think Bruce has more than had his day and should pack up his shuffle-shoes and retire. I hate the way he talks over the judges and often puts his own twopennorth in. His jokes are only one step up from Christmas Cracker ones and it would be a favour to him and to us if he just gave up trying to be funny.

I guess that means that you're unable to think. What about Graham Norton? Would be far better. I bet if others tried, we could come up with many who could do it far better than Bruce.

Bruce will miss no opportunity to get a laugh at someone else's expense. That's the way he is and I think a lot of us feel he has had long enough on strictly.
As far as a replacement goes I have no names to offer. All I will say is that whoever it is should be :

Respectful to all
Clear spoken
Pleasant on the eye
Able to control a "situation" if necessary
Does not need a great knowledge of dancing
Does not interfere with the judges comments.
Does not "whip up the crowd" or expect applausefor himself/herself.

I would love Chelsee to win. (1) to wipe the smile off his face and ( 2) for him to remember where his roots began, he seems to have forgotten his humble beginnings. Fame and wealth overtake some.

Bruce I dont blame, his generation of tv people were taught that accents had to be posh. I do mind however that this was the case at all.It needs to stop with a memo from way above

Great, that's John Bloody Borrowman out of the way then.

I do like Graham Norton as a presenter - he always did the Maria/Joseph/Nancy shows very well I thought, he sticks to the BBC rules but injects the odd slightly risky comment here and there; he would do well bantering with the judges as well, he even managed to get away with poking fun at ALW occasionally. There are plenty who could do a good job but the BBC tend to have their preferred 'stars' and there's probably only a short list of realistic presenters they would consider. Whoever takes his place will no doubt not be good enough according to most.
Would be great if Tess could be replaced too, as soon as poss, lots of possibilities for that role.

The important things is whether Chelsee has any problems with him. I have never noticed her show any sign of being uncomfortable with him. I think all the other performers tend to be a bit the same because of her age as was shown when she was lifted up to see over the crowd. It all seems to be in good fun.

Don't like Bruce at all but in this instance I don't believe he was being patronizing, I get the feeling he is very fond of little Chelsee in an endearing grandpa way.

I remeber he fawned all over Alesha too like he was proud of her
