If you don't play either first person shooters or MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role playing games) you won't, they don't tend to appear on "normal" forums. They're gaming terminology really and usually appear on forums dedicated to that.

This thread is an excellent idea - I've been helped a lot in the past by individual posters, both for abbreviations and how to do things like multi-post. And thought then it would be a good idea to have all this brilliant help in one place where others could go too!
