If you don't play either first person shooters or MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role playing games) you won't, they don't tend to appear on "normal" forums. They're gaming terminology really and usually appear on forums dedicated to that.

Ah, we definitely need a sticky for abbreviations and acronyms!

Thanks for the explanation for ZOMG - I realised it was an over-excited OMG, but hadn't realised that the Z didn't actually stand for anything other than a wayward stab at the caps key... Like it.

Thanks as well for educating me about the use of ^^. I've been using it as well as quoting the post, but it's clearly superfluous. I won't do it again.

Perhaps someone with a better understanding that a compuer iliterate person like me that is trying to be more litterate could post a full list of fast speak Thingys am sure it would gain forumwide approval

Me too, I used it when I rushed in at speed and wanted to simply agree with what someone had written, had nothing to add to it, and didn't have much time to write a post about it!

I don't mind this one though and will still use it

BTW, TBH, ISAWY!

If I remembered how to do a spoiler I'd give the translation in those. Instead I'll scroll down so you can test yourselves!

By the way, to be honest, I so agree with you! (Don't know if I made the last one up or not)

This thread is an excellent idea - I've been helped a lot in the past by individual posters, both for abbreviations and how to do things like multi-post. And thought then it would be a good idea to have all this brilliant help in one place where others could go too!

I must be one of the few who doesn't know what DOT means. There, I've come out and said it. I do know it's to do with the Non-Appreciation thread, at least I think it is. So now I await enlightenment.

Meh just means 'can't be bothered', or 'I don't care'. I think.
