Yeah, I've heard about #1 and I think it sounds like a good idea. #2 and #3 also sound good. I bet #3 in particular could have 'hilarious consequences' in the case of certain Strictly pros.

why change it works!

1. The 'bottom 2' that's includes someone that isn't actually in the bottom 2. I think this keeps people guessing.

I also like the idea of number 1 so that, not only can we see progression, but also it's not just a load of 10s, we may actually see someone's flaws come out a bit if they haven't really improved and just found their niche to get them to the final!

I think we should embrace the idea of improving international relations through the spirit of dance by engaging in a cultural exchange with the US version, DWTS

1) I think the Americans would love Bruce - a real-life Knight of the Realm. Proper Olde England. We'll have Tom Bergeron in return please, who can both read the auto-cue and be spontaneously witty.

2) Ditto Anton - the Americans would be charmed by his very-Englishness, uber-smart appearance and Fred Astaire moves. Oh...but...that would leave us with a pro-space to fill. Um, no actually. He'd be run off the set. Not funny at all; comes across as cantankerous and out of touch; and he pat act (silly dance at the start, catch phrase and grouchy way he closes the show) would annoy. Americans wouldn't see the charm in any of that, and the fact that he's been around for decades would be lost - no nostalgia factor. He'd been seen as someone who should have been retired ages ago.

I must admit Bruce is a bit of an acquired taste, the Americans really wouldn't get his humour! I still think the themes in the OP are better and perhaps more of a test of dancing skill than Halloween and Broadway themes (I quite like movie night, but with the other 2, it just seem a bit pushed to have both of them...)

Reason for that is that he's not funny. Just tired old jokes that he forces the audience laugh at; and the celebs do as well to curry favour.

I think Strictly has been made worse by the various 'improvements' made over the years -
introduction of the Charleston, moving the AT out of semi-final week, the comedy VTs, changing the final format from best ballroom/best latin/showdance, the introduction of the dance-off, props, the change to the judges points system, double eliminations (I agree a contingency plan was needed but this is not a good one) etc.

If we could just go back to the series 6 format sans dance-off, that would be grand.

Series six was quite boring. Series seven was worse, the most boring series (was it the series that Chris Hollins won?) of all...

I agree SCD-O series 6 was the pits and series 7 just as bad....the show most definately needed a boot up the bum.

These are all changes that a lot of people on here have complained about.

The only thing I would get rid of is the dance-off. And Arlene.
