Cant believe he gave Harry a 9 for his charleston, it was just what charlestons are supposed to be like! His dancing was so nifty, light and energetic, even chelsee couldent do better than that! He was so light on his feet. I really dont understand Craig....Chelsees paso doble had flaws and was wibbly wobbly, and being the nitty-gritty picky perfectionist that he is, still gave her a 10. Maybe its time for craig to go? Its taking the mick

Are you serious with this thread Or is it supposed to be some kind of joke
Craig who is arguably the most consistent and technical judge on this show?

Very impressed by his viennese waltz, it was exquisite! I am loving Harry, and he is so sweet and down to earth aswell. I wish craig would go, he is insulting not giving a 10 for that. It reminded me of what he was like last year with Kara Why is he like this with the most genuine talented dancer? Is there a hidden reason why he does this?

While I do agree with what you've said, Craig wasn't given the chance to explain himself. Only Len got to say anything after the dance.

If he's so consistent and technical, why did her give Chelsee a 10 despite the flaws SCDchick mentioned?

Yes, i am serious with this thread.

Chelsee`s paso doble was not perfect, and craig is meant to be so picky about everything, everyone knows very well what he is like. I saw the flaws in her paso doble and thr wobbly-ness of it. Not saying it was a bad dance it was NOT bad, it was very good, but not perfect and incredible. Remember last year with pamela? Craig did the same sort of thing with kara, and kara was hands down an amazing dancer with a wonderful technique

When Craig awards a 10 he really means it. When he is in accord with the other three judges there's nothing better than all four simultaneously showing their approval for any dancer. There’s no reason for Craig to go.

So as he is such a perfectionist and a real technique-focused judge then why did he not pick out the flaws in chelsees paso doble?

I have no dance training, well I have, but the less said about that the better. I like who I like and if all the judges want to confirm that for me I‘ll accept their expertise because that's why they are there ... as the judges.

Uhm no, i am asking a reasonable question, of why he gave her a 10 when there were noticable flaws, as he is such a nitty gritty picky one

I just dont understand him

He always picks out the minutest of flaws, and yet didnt pick out any flaws in her flaw-full paso doble, yet Harrys viennese waltz was a dream, and he has the knack to mention about his head, but no flaws from chelsees

Perhaps he didn't think his VW was worth a 10?
Alesha's and Matthew's VW is THE BEST that's ever been on SCD and it got 38 or 39 IIRC, so there you go.
Craig doesn't need to go anywhere, he's fine where he is.

Unless you're the one of the judges all anyone can do is complain. Craig's score worked for me.

This. Craig's the last of the judges to be shown the door, all the other three should be way ahead of him in terms of consistency and or favouritism.

Good luck with this thread. Craig's far from perfect but there are three judges that should be shown the door before him imo.

As far as I am concerned it has always been time for Craig to go, but he is obviously going to sit tight as long as he can. He has always got on my nerves with his Mr Big Expert act, whereas I am certain he knew nothing about ballroom dancing before he got this job. If he would stick to what he knows, stage dancing, I wouldn't object to him, although I still wouldn't like him.

Ok, let's be fair here. Her paso wasn't flawless, but it wasn't flawful either! She had some wobbly moments near the end and almost went for the wrong timing for the last line.

And maybe Craig didn't give Harry the 10 because he thinks Harry can do better? Because let's face it, Jason really can't do better than that AT. And Chelsee, despite producing some great dances, is still maintaining the same problems she had at the beginning of not completely committing to the step in slower, or more passionate dances.

Or maybe Craig is favouring Harry in a weird way because he knows the backlash of an early 40 (as we have witnessed on this board for the past couple of days).

Or maybe Harry rejected Craig's come-ons backstage and now Craig is making him pay for it.

Or...

Really, who cares? This is an entertainment show. Harry topped the judges leaderboard. And though he didn't get a full score, his score showed the diversity of his talent and his ability to cope with 2 dances. And it is disappointing for him not to have received the first full score of the series. But the standard is so similar that it could be anyone's game to be honest (minus the popularity).

Didn't Ally and Pamela's VWs both score perfect 40s?

In which case either Craig is wrong, and you were contradicting yourself,

or Alesha's VW wasn't the best which means... you were contradicting yourself.

IMO Alesha's VW was/is the best ever seen on strictly. Craig is not wrong neither am I we just have differing OPINIONS on what we feel is a great VW. He obviously felt that Ally's and Pamela's VW were better than Alesha's. Whereas I did/do not. IMO Ally was an insipid dancer but the public and judges seemed to love her. Ultimately, Craig is a judge and an expert I am not, but I still have a right to have differing opinions than the judges as I'm sure most of as do at some point.

Harry's VW lacked where several of his ballroom dances lacked - in the face, as well as head placement (at times.)

In the VW at times Harry would be looking towards Aliona too much, but even more his facial expression was "I'm thinking really hard". He needed to be smiling, or least have a sublimely cheerful look.
