If you were an employer, which young candidate would you hire?

If you were seriously giving one of these young people a job in your firm to take up a real position, not to provide good telly or entertainment, not because they are a "personality", but because you wanted a bright, competent young apprentice... who would you choose?

For me, it would be Harry H by a mile - the most mature, level headed, intelligent and capable young man I have seen on TV in a long time. An absolute credit to himself, his parents and teachers. It seems simply bizarre that he didn't make it to the Final - but that's reality TV for you, not real life.

Who would you employ?

Harry M, Zara, Harry H and Lizzie - with Hayley coming up on the rails.

The rest - they need a bit of growing up time - and at the very least to learn to be team players (which does not mean ostracising one person and dismissing all their ideas and suggestions because they come from them!) and a team includes ALL the members of the team - not just the ones you like!

Harry H first, Zara second

None of the rest

Harry H, Lizzie. I'd give fair consideration to Hannah too as she was very good in the way she treated people - certainly would do well as a team leader where ruthlessness was not paramount.
If I was backing someone to work on their own then Zara would be in the mix too - but I wouldn't want her as an employee.

You've summed it up perfectly for me Bea.
Harry stood head and shoulders above the others right from the very start.

I wouldn’t hire any of them …. they’d be better advised to go on to university and complete their education.

I would agree with you there... but then, going to university seems to mean ramping up debt of £27,000+ these days. How awful for young people to have to face that prospect!

Unless students accept the challenge they’ve been handed there will be lost opportunities and it’s the system we have although it’s by no means ideal.

Harry H and Lizzie first and foremost, and then Hannah.
I think Zara would get up the noses of other staff very quickly.

Harry H without a doubt, a very smart and capable young lad. His disgraceful dismissal last week has led to me not even bothering to watch tonights final.

Lizzie, I find her underrated.

Depends what the job is. Harry H wins on competence. Zara and Lizzie on all around ability or for anything needing presentation skills. If you were on trial you would want Zara and Lizzie together defending you. Hannah I think went too early to judge on. Hannah or Hayleywould be top of the list if you were sick and wanted curing.

Harry H as he could be an interesting employee. He could make my coffee too.

It was always expensive, but, these days any students with parent/s will fare better than students with no parents to back them. So students with parents are getting a very good deal.

Zara, but please note not for a managerial position. I'd make her a sales/marketing person, and she'd be fantastic. Anywhere else, no. Certainly nothing dealing with numbers.

None of those media-whores would even get an interview in my company.

I'd hire Harry H, who was both competent and mature. Haya and Lizzie were also good. Hayley and Hannah might have been good, but we didn't really get to know them enough.

Zara, for all her presentation skills, struck me as being someone who talked the talk but couldn't necessarily walk the walk. In truth, I didn't see much business acumen in her. Of course, that's not to say she might not go on to be very successful as a film-maker, but she lacked commercial nous for me.

Harry H. A measured and capable young man who could do anything asked of him. Such a shame he went out.
James would be the very last person I'd employ he looks like an old, tired, over indulged member of parliament.
