Looking back at X Factor history like this makes me realise how terrible the competition was some years. The first 5 series in particular. I also think that, despite how often 2011's lot were described as the worst group of talent yet, they were actually the most talented lot. Little Mix, Misha B and Janet all stand out as potential stars to me and even some of the others Sophie, Amelia, The Risk and even Kitty Brucknell are so much better than previous runners up - eg. Andy Abrahams, Ray Quinn, Journey South, Marcus Collins....

Series 1 : G4 (validating the premise of X Factor an over-25 or group HAD to win S1 though)
Series 2 : Shayne (although I cant remember that far back really, I didnt watch it as intently back then)
Series 3 : Leona (clearly the best talent especially against obnoxious Ray)
Series 4 : Rhydian (set up to win)
Series 5 : Diana (IMO was plan B to Eoghan if not plan A)
Series 6 : Danyl (set up to win)
Series 7 : Matt or Cher (although Matt was the only one of the top 4 not set up to win)
Series 8 : Misha or Janet (Misha from her talent, Janet for being intended plan A)

NB. Reading sofabet.com while X Factor is on really gives you an insight into producers' aims with each series!
