trevor horn concert
iain

if anyone is interested, i've just seen that there's a prince's trust concert at wembley arena on 11 Nov featuring bands that trevor horn has produced, including the art of noise, propaganda, fgth, simple minds, yes, seal, abc, belle and sebastian and even buggles.

it looks great - i loved all that ztt stuff in the 80s in particular.

more info at www.ztt.com

Well Trevor Horn was the bass player and singer in The Buggles... so thats half of them there already!
Video Killed the Radio Star is one of the greatest songs ever....
Especially when you see Rachel Stevens.

It's a pity that Holly won't be joining the Frankies onstage I wonder who they will get to sing instead?

no idea - is still OK healthwise, or is he still not speaking to the rest of the band or TH?

i'd love to go, but just can't afford it right between a wedding and a christmas.

Your wedding ? Congrats if it is

Having watched FGTH on Bands Reunited, I get the impression for Holly that "That was then and This is now" and he doesn't want to retread that path

it was indeed, ta.

thats a shame, as it is just a one off and pretty special show. i'd have love to go just to see propaganda - presumably the original lineup. still haven't forgiven paul morley for marrying claudia, and messing everything up!

Propaganda are one of those bands I know little about listened to them a bit but that's about it. The show does sound as though it will be very good

The FGTH line on the 'reformation' is on their Official Website. If you remeber Frankie from first time round there is also streaming media on there of those 20 minute casssette singles they released, a great trip down memory lane

good shout. i was an avid collector in the early days of ztt - fgth, propaganda, and the art of noise. i have loads of stuff, including some fairly rare 12"s, but the *relax* and *two tribes* cassette singles always evaded me - i shall have a listen later.

they released a 3cd set of everything act recorded at ztt, but never so much for the above.

*a secret wish* (propaganda) is a fantastic album, and definitely worth checking out.

I was the owner of both the Relax and Two Tribes cassette singles until an ex-girlfriend cleared her stuff from my flat, including my entire cassette collection, which also included various SBD 'Smiths' Concerts

not so good - they'd be worth quite a bit now, especially if they were in good nick!

had a listen last night - a few different bits and bobs on them. was interesting to hear some of the early stuff before TH had got his hands on them - *two tribes* actually sounded quite joy division / new order-ish.
