Like many other posters, I watched this show for a long time and I sincerely think that this serie has the best contestants in terms of camaraderie. They all seem so nice and so supportive of each other.
Imo, the right 3 made the final.I know this is a competition but its nice to see that these celebrities&pros are going to be friends for a long time, I think.
What I especially love on Saturday was Harry genuine reaction to Chelsee's 1st 10 by Craig.Likewise, I see her happy for him when he has good scores.Or it could be ,how he lifted her up in the Tessanine when she couldnt see or the nice exchange when they were interviewed.
I support Chelsee and my second favourite is Harry, why cant fans of both parties be nice with each other.

It's always like this in the last few weeks of the show. It becomes rather unpleasant on the forum. I have to say though, the nastiness, particularly towards Jason, has been exceptionally bad this year. Don't remember it being this bad since Lisa!

I agree that this place is very unpleasant at the moment. Although I havent seen anything as bad as the vitriol that was directed towards Lisa Snowdon yet.

Bit of shame OP that the sentiments couldnt be also extended to Jason.....he and his fans have had to endure a lot more than any of Chelsee or Harry fans. There is really not a single thread that doesnt get infected by something horrible about him even though the thread probably hasnt even started out as being anything about Jason at all.

Same here, though my fave is Harry and my second fave is Chelsee.

Unlikely that you will see that degree of hostility.. Too many of the contributors to these type of forums seem to think they know better than the collective opinion of the Judges. Worse than that, they were claiming the Judges were involved in some sort of conspiracy.

I think most people on this forum can agree to disagree, relatively politely, about their favs and non favs. The only comments that I find pointless is that if you clearly like someone (even just a little bit) then you're called a 'worshipper' and if you don't like someome (even a bit for nothing major) you're called a 'hater'.

I can like alot of things about someone, even (generally) claim to love what they do, or say, or look like etc but that doesn't mean that I can't see the flaws to them either. And same in reverse if I don't like alot of things about them... but can recognise some positives there as wll. Sometimes I feel that if you forget to recognise both in the same post (i.e. the negative and postive) then you're labelled either a worshipper or a hater. But sometimes it's just not necessary to state both sides of recognition, and yet sometimes I feel like I have to (try and remember to do so) just so that I don't get called one extreme or the other.

Oh, believe me, Jason's getting his fair share of 'overmarked', 'wasn't even a proper AT' etc etc. Why do people have to dislike so much??

But even the real ballroom dancers on here - and some of them are teachers agreed that Lisa was over rated by the judges and in the opinion of many on here wasn't worthy of her place in the final at the expense of Tom and/ or Austin.

Her unmerited place in the final was the reason so many detested the dance off, as the judges saved her several times against worthier opposition - and the fact that she appeared in so many dance offs clearly meant that she was not getting the public votes, and no matter what she did - she was out once the judges couldn't save her - hence why she was first out in the final.

This time round we have (IMHO) got the 3 best dancers in the final - all are likeable and I don't care which of them wins - they ALL deserve it!

Yep, I don't mind who wins it - as long as it's not Chelsee or Jason.

As if the attacks on Lisa waited until Tom or Austin were out.

And so what if she was over-rated by the judges? That's no reason to dislike her, and plenty of celebs have been over-rated without so much dislike. Some of them have even been very popular.

Besides, "real ballroom dancers" are just as subject to bias etc as the rest of us.

...

This forum has ALWAYS been unpleasant, at least as far back as the year Zoe was in it (which was the first time I followed discussions here).

But the dislike towards Lisa -- which did not wait for her to get to the final over someone more "deserving" -- was especially odd.

I don't think any of them deserve it. I don't enjoy their dances, and for the first time since I started watching SCD, I won't be bothering to watch the final.

Simple. It's because the final is next week and believe me, it will get worse, much worse.

Oh dear!
Anyone want to bet how many " X/Y was robbed threads "we are going to see in this forum after/during the final?
I would say 10.

Excellent news that you won't be watching the final. God help us all if you do.

It will go on until just before the New Year, by which time the end of series games will have started and everything will go calm again!

How do you explain the animosity the rest of the time?

It's not like it waited until now to get going.

This is a discussion forum. It's equally irritating when people tell you that you're not allowed to make negative comments about their favourite. If someone says something I disagree with, I will argue the point, not tell them they're not allowed to express their opinion.

Case in point: on another thread someone criticised Chelsee's level of education and intelligence, but in their post they made a lot of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. A Chelsee fan made the comeback "oh but at least she can spell". I pointed out that actually her spelling is very poor - due to what I assume is dyslexia - and was given short shrift for that from yet another poster. I'm still not sure why; unlike dancing, there is an objectively correct way to spell words and often Chelsee doesn't manage. Neither does one of my favourite contestants (Kara), doesn't mean I don't like her, it just means I take issue with people making nonsensical comments.

I know some people are into blind hero worship here - I've certainly got my favourites - but they need to accept that negative comments will be made. You might not be happy about everything that's said on this forum, but if that's the case then actually discuss the issue that's under debate rather than ask other people not to express their opinions just because they're different to your own ones.

I fell out of love with SCD about the middle of last years series and didn't even bother watching it past that. Wasn't even unhappy the Kara and Artem won. Just couldn't be bothered anymore.

This year I've really loved watching it with hubby and daughter, yes I have an old fondness for Jason, never liked his pop stuff but took kids to see chitty chitty bang bang and he was fab.

I love Chelsee, she is such a little sweetheart and I do watch Waterloo road so know her from that.

I didn't know Harry at all bu like someone else said he's a very personable and polite young man.

To my amateur eye I enjoy all of them dancing and don't have a cleat favourite.

I thought Holly was hilarious (in a good way) and have enjoyed watching her very much. Alex has a lovely personality and such enthusiasm. I even liked Robbie who I'd never heard of and I'm hardly a football fan.

So next weekend I shall sit and enjoy with my family then look forward to next year again!

The ONLY thing that could make it better for me is JfW's musings!

It is there from when the line up is announced and just gets worse as the series progresses. During the rest of the time though, I can't say I've noticed much animosity.

I love Strictly. It's pure entertainment. Occasionally there have been winners who have not been my faves but I have never ever felt the need to diss them or their fans. It is all down to personal choice and I respect that.

To be honest Veri, given that you're a battle scarred veteran of the BB forum, I'm surprised that any level of animosity surprises you on this or any other forum devoted to a competitive reality show.

I wish I had the answer to your last question, it also confuses me.

because its Digital Spy and people love to disagree with each other, make spiteful comments about people they dont know and genuinely cause as much agro as possible

Yes, its a Discussion Forum and yes people are entitled to their own opinions and are free to post them but when those opinions get spiteful, rude and downright disrespectful (which alot of them do) DS turns into a nasty horrible place to be
