Fortunately you did not read as I did at 5am this morning (insomnia) before it was removed, a post calling Chelsee a fake c***.
If that's the level on here now, personally I'm glad to be off it. For those calling Chelsee unintelligent etc. She is bright. You will not learn 2 dances like those and perform without being bright. She is also bright on her replies back to Tess and Bruce and her asides about and to Pasha. I'd 100 times rather have her genuineness and honesty over any of the nasty little 'people' on here who call her unintelligent or worse just because she can't spell very well on twitter and has a northern accent. I also have never heard her say anything derogotary about anyone. I know what it's like to be picked on and I hope she smashes Blackpool. As another poster said, SCD is only supposed to be a light entertainment show and I do think people take it waaaaaaay too seriously sometimes. I apologise for the forthcoming cliche, but at the end of the day - whomever wins SCD, it ain't gonna change their life. The celebrities taking part know what the show's about, and how to use it to raise their profiles. They know to expect criticism, and not all of it is constructive yet they take it with good humour. As someone whose favourites are regularly unpopular on this forum, I've learnt to improve my sense of humour and if something does get too personal for my liking, ignore it and move on. I'm not sure if that will make sense to anyone but me, but there you go!

There's a vast difference between expressing a personal opinion - ie I felt Darren Gough didn't deserve to win - and expressing something as a fact - Darren Gough didn't deserve to win. . Having to put IMO, or even worse, IMHO at the end of every post would get very tedious. IMO

I posted that one post on here (I don't post elsewhere, have only been twice in appreciation) because the general tone of the forum is not somewhere I like this year and in fact it was the same last year. I used to post 100s of times during a series. Now it seems as Jan says if you don't fit in a certain clique you can't simply comment and comment on your enjoyment of the show. You have to be constantly sarcastic with it. Gets a bit tedious.
I like Harry by the way. He's a very nice boy. I just thought this was a more general discussion about comments on the forum, and didn't think it should be turned into another thread defending our favourites. After all, they all come in for some stick on here..it's really a discussion about what everybody feels is acceptable. I would certainly draw the line at what you saw early this morning, but that was extreme. As I posted earlier, I think general banter of the kind you would hear in homes, offices, shops, etc around the country, even if it's less than flattering, is perfectly acceptable in a forum like this. |

Chelsee isn't unintelligent, just uneducated and not very worldly, a lot of young people are like that at that age.
They also tend to get a bit introspective, not a lot of awareness of what is going on with the outside world, no knowledge of public affairs, history, or geography and tend to be in a little bubble with their circle of friends and their immediate interests. But she's a quick learner, or she could be if she put that naffin' phone down for a minute. |

Nah, just so long as we're not at the level of that poster Nancy quotes, banter's good.
![]() I agree! But I am what is considered the dark side, I'm an unappreciator. ![]() ![]() So I know of what I speak.![]() But you and Nancy are right, I hope that poster got a nice long holiday until at least after Strictly finishes. |

![]() There's not many times I use the second option because there's not often that many facts presented here on SCD to debate against. The above comment clearly being my own opinion of course

The problem is when some insist on calling an "argument" a "debate" when it's just a difference of personal opinion.
We can all find elements to back up our own opinions, but if the same instances are perceived differently by someone else, what's the point of "locking antlers" over it? People are not going to change their minds. |

I remember a lot of animosity on here towards Tom Chambers and he went on to win.
Which is why I haven't ruled out a Jason win ![]() Usually if some DS members hate on my favourite they go on to win

Hi Nancy......lovely to see you I have missed you, and some others that used to be regulars on here both during and between series, who no longer seem to be around. I remember our laughs with nostalgia and I dont think we always saw eye to eye but somehow it never affected us.
Yes, there was negativity but I don't remember so much vindictiveness. There were many posters whose opinions I valued for their knowledge and wit I don't see around either. I used to write a few scripts and skits based on the show which I really enjoyed writing and I think others enjoyed as well, and I could find the material to do it now, Jason and Chelsee would provide reams, but... But quoting that post is unfair to the vast majority of the posters who would be horrified at that kind of abuse .

But don't you think maybe the tone of many posts was conducive to the poster to think that he/she could write it at all and it would be left there? I have no idea to be honest why people post that kind of post .Much of it I presume is attention seeking , be it good or bad . Its the same in Advice , some genuinely lovely people asking and being given Advice and along comes a WUM and spoils it .But I dont then blame other posters for one silly one . |

Harry looked dead pleased and happy for Chelsee getting the 40.
It was especially sweet how he lifted her up when Jason was getting his scores. Such a shame this board on the other hand has to resort to personal, cruel, vile, narrow minded prejudiced remarks when the two people in question have nothing but respect for each other! |

I post regularly in the non appreciation thread as I find it suits my sense of humour
I would hate to think that I could only ever post in there, at times I come out onto the main forum to ask a question and sometimes because I have asked a question about a contestant have received very personal abuse and at one point had to wait for 3 days before anyone answered a simple question. What some people do not seem to realise that to ask a question after a comment that is posted is not a hostile action I enjoy good discussions and learning new things, yesterday and today I posted things following comments from a poster on a subject that I knew something about ( a very rare thing) and I was able to change someone mind about something due to that information. Thank you Jan Buddy and Richmond Blue I wish all posters could be so polite and we could have a forum where people were able to discuss the series instead of endlessly attacking not only the contestants but the other posters |

I still lurk in the Spoiler Thread but never post anymore after the animosity I and some other "Trolls" "WUMs" and "Moaning Minnies" received for holding the minority view that week.
![]() Only go to Spoiler thread now after 10pm to get the result and then leave. |
