I post regularly in the non appreciation thread as I find it suits my sense of humour

I would hate to think that I could only ever post in there, at times I come out onto the main forum to ask a question and sometimes because I have asked a question about a contestant have received very personal abuse and at one point had to wait for 3 days before anyone answered a simple question.

What some people do not seem to realise that to ask a question after a comment that is posted is not a hostile action

I enjoy good discussions and learning new things, yesterday and today I posted things following comments from a poster on a subject that I knew something about ( a very rare thing) and I was able to change someone mind about something due to that information. Thank you Jan Buddy and Richmond Blue I wish all posters could be so polite and we could have a forum where people were able to discuss the series instead of endlessly attacking not only the contestants but the other posters
Yeah, but you is a spotty-bummed, bullying, jelus, vindictive, nasty, evil, devil-worshipping, nazi-supporting hatah, intya?

*runs back to the non-app thread!

No, it doesn't deserve a 10. The post was far too "creepy"..probably someone who works for the Beeb.

BTW..that's only a joke !
Creepy!!?!!

I nearly cried

Work for the beeb? Nah I just help pay their wages

I don't think any of them deserve it. I don't enjoy their dances, and for the first time since I started watching SCD, I won't be bothering to watch the final.
Who on earth do you think deserves it more than these three then? .. especially Harry and Chelsee (no offence to Jason fans ... I'm glad he's through but they're better .. but that might change on finals night because it will come down to who's the most entertaining and I think he's capable of being the most entertaining.)
Are you saying you haven't liked anyone this season? .. I'm amazed you've stuck with it this far if that's the case.

Blimey thats me told

I cant ask a question or expect an answer because I am unlikely to want in meaningful discussion

and I am not hiding mockery I am open in my mockery when I do so in the appropriate place

and I would debate " nasty" just because others dont agree with what I have to say

I have never called anyone thick, mocked their spelling, breasts or anything of that ilk

It is interesting to hear people's different perspectives. Over the last few weeks I have thought about stopping posting because of the tone of the forum (but I guess I haven't been able to keep away!) There is a balance between expressing views openly, as you would expect to do on a forum, and sounding strident and even slightly aggressive

I don't have an issue with the odd rogue poster, because they've always existed, and can't be avoided. I guess I do have a problem with the cliqueyness (is that a word?) of the forum. I hesitate to highlight the non-appreciation thread actually because I like many of its contributors and often find their posts amusing (smarm smarm ) although I have found their criticism of Jason a bit too unrelenting. I don't mind criticism of someone's performance (I too hated the tango, although liked some of his previous dances), or a some of the more tongue in cheek posts (love Jason's Jems) but the personal stuff often gets too aggressive sometimes. To be honest I find all of the regular threads (appreciation and main forum) a bit too cliquey really.. Many of these are nowhere near as welcoming as perhaps the inhabitants would claim they are, with unwritten rules about what you can and can't discuss. e.g don't get too serious about the dancing. I don't do cliquey stuff very well, I guess. .

I also find the continual picking up of celebs and pros on every minor comment, facial expression a bit too much.

I was just in awe of the amount of pasty that could be hidden on there

In all seriousness I am really quite upset that some posters would think that any poster would ever be hurtful in any way IN REAL LIFE to the dancers or the pros

Mockery is fine personal and real abuse is not

I posted that one post on here (I don't post elsewhere, have only been twice in appreciation) because the general tone of the forum is not somewhere I like this year and in fact it was the same last year. I used to post 100s of times during a series. Now it seems as Jan says if you don't fit in a certain clique you can't simply comment and comment on your enjoyment of the show. You have to be constantly sarcastic with it. Gets a bit tedious.

I like Harry by the way. He's a very nice boy.

I agree with this,

I'm really sorry you feel that way, lots of people have said that this year and yet we've had loads of new posters join us.

I guess if you're a Jason fan then it would be difficult to tiptoe in but honestly if you came in and told us all to shut up, he was the sexiest most interesting man on the planet, when we finished laughing we'd listen to what you have to say. Honest.

Everyone has their favourites and yuckies on the thread and it's different for everyone but everyone is allowed to like/dislike whoever they want, I promise. Lots like Chelsee/Pasha, some like Holly/Artem, a couple like Harry but he's too boring to find much to unappreciate, I didn't like anyone, so I've been unappreciative about everyone apart from Artem. But hey, if you want to come in and say that Artem is an idiot who can't dance and can't choreograph and is too miserable to ever be seen on tv again, someone in there would agree with you.

But this long ramble is my way of saying ANYONE is welcome. We keep being called cliquey, but that's not our fault, we're probably the main thread on the main board and we talk to each other every day, we're cyber-friends, we laugh, we cry, we talk about our days, our worries, our families and men we fancy and anyone is welcome to join us.

We appreciate we're not for everyone but if you want to pop by Shuddupfluffy will put some pasties on for you.

I often think that, sometimes something accidentally draws me back to a thread and I notice something I've posted about which I'd completely forgotten, usually I think "that makes a lot of sense" but not always.
I've reached an age where trivia on here doesn't make a lasting impression on me, regardless of who posts it.

I haven't reached the stage yet where George Melly spoke of the benefits of his Alzheimers,
"I get to meet so many interesting people I've forgotten I know."

Hun,

I value your posts and know exactly where your thought s come from. I have never thought that your posts were hurtful, though I do sometimes hurt after laughing at your witty or sarky comments. I think some people are a little bit softer than those of us on the non-app thread and perhap misread our intentions. However, all of us in there 'get' each other and understand the it is mockery and not abuse.

I'd even go to Bognor for the non-app DOTs - well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I was actually just giving you a little insight as to why your repeated questions with regard to Jason were not being responded to numerously, I spend far more time reading the forum than posting tbh, if I personally feel that a poster is far too biased ( and I gauge this by the tone and nature of their posts) then its unlikely that I am ever going to try and debate with what is essentially a closed mind.

I leave you to your mocking in the AT thread, its not my cuppa tea, though I am amused as to why so many from there post out here then run back and repeat whats said to the rest of the clique.....its like a little gang.

Actually, it's more of a club. We have kimonos, drinks and nibbles. We also have a cleaner, comfy seats and very well managed discussion.

I suppose it works both ways - you'd never believe the amount of lurkers we get who never post but love reading what we've got to say, before nipping off to other threads to be professionally offended by us

I'd say, don't knock the non-app thread until you've tried it, but watch out - it's very addictive!

If we go in there to vent our spleen about what is being said we are doing just what it says on the thread title - 'non-appreciating' what is being written about us! Surely you can't complain about that!

Not really, I read the whole forum, but I am directing my posts to who I am talking to, not running off elsewhere to slate them.

When the posts are not so personal or vindictictive towards the celebs I could agree, its a positive to have a place to vent and non appreciate and share humour, its the low base of it thats not to my taste.
And its not just Jason, though he comes in for the larger share, I have hardly been on here the last couple of series but have been shocked at what I read for the type of show it is. Thats my opinion for what its worth .

Not forgetting the occasional Non-appreciation of the curve balls life sometimes throws us, which have nothing to do with SCD.

I don't post often but do lurk around on the strictly pages. Why don't I post much? Mainly because I don't like the nasty personal comments that get aimed at the celebrities. In my opinion for what its worth, criticising their dancing or scores is fine we all have differing opinions whether dance trained or not. What I dislike so much are the personal comments for example what has it got to do with Chelsee's dancing ability if she has had a boob job/botox? Or that Jason talks to much etc etc. We all have favourites but does anyone really need to be nasty about the other contestants? Before I post either here or elsewhere I always stop to think how would I feel if someone posted that about me. Yes criticise the judges for their marking, comments and sometimes obvious favouritism but don't blame the celebrities for the judges actions. Thats my opinion for what its worth
